Can someone tell me why a player has to cop an extra weeks suspension just because their club has the audacity to challenge the judiciary.

Seems very harsh doesn’t it? Surely a financial penalty, ie to cover costs of the proceedings, would be more fitting?

@helmesy Unfortunately that suggestion reeks of common sense.

It’s such a flawed system where an appeal for justice is intrinsically regarded as a wrongdoing.

Andrew Abdo came out and spoke of the desire for simplification of the NRL judiciary.Really? We’re already experiencing major inconsistencies.

I really have to question our legal team here. An extra 50% punishment for a poor judgment that is just typical of the club. It was dumb to challenge it in the first place.

@mike Perhaps so Mike, but given our situation, desperate times call for desperate measures. The dispensation of justice by the NRL judiciary is in its nature unjust and reactionary.Really something of a joke.Hope these next three weeks aren’t too painful.

Agree. Desperate times do call for desperate measures but at desperate times, especially, you have make sure you are not making the situation worse. Three weeks is a disaster.
