Thought it would be good to have somewhere to highlight issues that might be relevant to the FRG.

1) membership process is still too slow and experience is way too varied. Auto rolled members should get their membership pack delivered before Christmas.

2) Replica NRL jersey should be in stores by Dec 1st to allow for people to purchase for gifts.

Agree with both.

The membership experience is a giant issue. We have one of the lowest number of members in the comp. Imagine if the membership team had to cope with 20k members. We would be waiting until April.

spoke to club re season ticket delay apparently if you are changing seating e.g. silver to gold or adding a extra ticket etc this is causing the delay.

Club could not give me any idea on when I would be receiving seat confirmation or membership pack however

I just wanted to say I think it is fantastic that you blokes are on the Fan Rep Group in the first place and the fact we in this forum have a chance to highlight issues directly to you to take to the Wests Tigers board and have the chance to be heard is great.

My 2 points for a better fan/member interaction are:

  • Membership Department - Needs some tweaking so that the whole experience runs smoother with the processes involved. It’s definitely very clunky at the moment particularly on the use of technology for communications and redeeming members packs etc.
  • Game day - We need to get more home games with at least 2 games on the day or even 3 with NSW cup, NRLW and NRL all on together.

Thanks boys you’re all doing a great job.

Apologies if this has been explained somewhere else, but what is the Fan Representative Group? And, what does it do?

I reckon one that might seem minor but in my mind is an issue- the quality of the merchandise. I know it is incredibly subjective but much of the clothing is far from a modern design and the quality is garbage.

As the name implies, the group is being formed as a means of representing the fans in discussions with the club. So, for example, when we have our meetings with the club we can bring up issues that fellow fans have brought to our attention - say for example, we might tell the club that we are getting a lot of comments here about how difficult it is to renew a membership. We can then allow the club to respond and pass that back on to the fans.

It also enables the club to communicate to the fans via these types of platforms, perhaps ask for specific feedback about an issue, maybe the club wants to know about how a new campaign was received etc. We can then take that to you guys, get your feedback and feed that to the club etc.

100% the quality of merch is dreadful, and the variety is just as bad. Hopefully the changes in the club can lead to the change in supplier to one that provides better quality and a wider range, and potentially an expansion of who produces and creates our merchandise going forward within whatever rules exist with the NRL and licensing of gear.

But seeing what other clubs sell and the quality of the gear, we have a long way to go.

Thanks, Joel. Just that first sentence though; has the group not existed before? It's a new structure? Is it one of the recommendations from the review? And, is there agreement between Club and FRG on those communication channels that you mentioned in your response?

@mercy-rule There have been attempts to get this working before, however, let's just say the timing wasn't right. New structure and more enthusiastic people at Concord now. Yes, I believe this was part of the review recommendations (but not 100% sure). No, nothing official but things are still coming together.

This is different to what has existed before, much more formal and is 100% one of the recommendations from the review. When we had our interview as part of the review, part of the discussion centred around the fans and members not having a voice. This is one of the ideas we floated as a way of the fans having input to a professionally recruited board and the direction of the club.

We have had a couple of meetings with the club already about this but there are still a lot of details to iron out on this one.

Oh ok, so it's aspirational, and undeniably worthy.  But, it seems at the moment, there is no path in place, as yet, for the FRG to influence Club directions in terms of direct feedback and discussions with the Board.
