@garry, the idea of an independent review is fine, but it would have be instigated by the Board and senior leaders, so not much chance of that I fear. They're more interested in protecting their positions than being told they are "more problem than solution".
That's why I like the idea of coordinated and strategic protests by members/fans to raise NRL awareness of the ineptness of our current senior leaders and Board. At least it would get publicity.

The Ambush is holding a fan forum this weekend as a starting point, getting the media on board and actually pushing for change would be the best strategy in my opinion. I would like to see the review instigated from above the Wests Tigers Board.

Who/what is above the WT board?

Who/what is above the WT board?
Holman Barnes Group
The debenture holders
NRL
The issue we have is that a number of people sit in both the board of the Holman Barnes group and the Wests Tigers. This is another area that needs to be looked at.

Nominally Tony Andreacchio (chairman of Holman Barnes Group) is the person most in position to make change given he is at the top of the org chart for the entire organisation. I know nothing about him but if he is doing his job properly then he is the one holding the entire organisation and its subsidiaries to account. If he is not doing his job then the only hope is that there is another person within the 20 debenture holders who could take on the role.
As an aside, is it published anywhere who are the debenture holders? It sounds like some weird secret society.

Again, though, it comes back to the same people and they probably aren’t going to green light a process that potentially points the finger at them.
There are three potential things that will happen in the next five years:
1. Current owners/board get their act together and steer us out of trouble.
2. They sell the franchise.
3. It becomes so unworkable that the NRL intervenes.
Based on the track records and personalities of those involved option 3 is most likely.

I haven't been able to find it listed anywhere, I know who a few of them are, Dennis Burgess for example is one.

Which is why I think it is important to generate media support in something like this.
At some point if we can get someone like Steve, with a good understanding of the structures of our club, speaking calmly, with passion and elocution about those structures and a plan for change with the media to gain support. The aim would be for the media to pressure for change or the NRL to step in and force change.

Option 2 is my preference. The club will struggle under the current ownership because I don't really think they care about winning and losing. Self preservation is their only goal. We need new owners, new management, new coaches, new everything.

Option 2 won't happen, option 3 is fairly unlikely.
If the processes around the selection of board members can be strengthened then the benefit of the current ownership model is it provides stability. Things need to be strengthened massively around our board though.

You are not wrong SFS but the person responsible for holding the board to account is actually the Chairman.

A strong Chairman would actually go a long way to righting the ship in the absence of a restructure.

I agree, I don't think 2 will happen and I don't think 3 will either. I'm not really concerned about stability when the status quo has failed for so long. I don't see a practical solution to the problem because ultimately the Board via Holman Barnes have all the power and they won't change/fix anything as it's not really in their best interest to do so.

Needs continual media pressure, we do have some avenues to drive for change and hope to start moving forward on that over the next couple of weeks.

A lot of good points raised on this page.
Lee has his weekly media appearance(s) on SEN - might be worth working with them when the time comes?
