A lot of people come on here quoting SMH articles (including myself), and the Australian is part of New Corp hence also under the New Corp umbrella, so your argument is somewhat specious in that regard. Ultimately we just share a different view. I think a professional organisation has a responsibility to act in a professional manner, and as a club we absolutely do not.

On the final point, in my profession the finer details are every bit as important as the big things. Attention to detail matters. ESPECIALLY when the on field performance is so bad.

Well that's fair enough on The Australian. Maybe I should rephrase - what % of angry fan responses are to Fox Sports compared to any other media? Social media and Fox are regularly posting things just to get a rise out of people. Quoting Facebook as a source of fan discontent is like quoting a black hole as a source of gravity - Facebook is a cesspool.

I do take your point that professionalism matters, but it is also my opinion that we are so far beyond that being a focus. When we get the wins in order first, when players do their professionalism, then I'll get more wound up about corporate errors. Corporate 1%ers won't make any difference right now.

But of course, yes, I hope for a day when Tigers stop making mistakes of any kind.

In truth, I don’t think the reaction of most fans (myself included) is rational. I think many fans that are left have just had enough, had enough of 10yrs of failure on the field and the embarrassment we have become off the field. Fans are expressing these feelings in different ways but I sense we have breached some sort of threshold now. Even the rusted on fans (myself included) are at the point where they will not accept status quo. Whether this results in change at the club or just lots of fans walking away from the club is the question.

For any other club this would be fairly embarrassing and followed up with an apology. For us it's business as usual.

In the past 7 days:

  1. Commemorative jersey feature american troops from a stock google image.
  2. Brooks loses 15th game in a row. Named at 7 again despite winning 2 of past 23 games.
  3. Sheens proclaims Doueihi best fullback at the club. Plays so poorly he's demoted back to the halves from where he was previously moved for poor play.
  4. Pascoe on the phone in the dressing room at half time, and kicking a ball on pitch pre game. Chairman Lee defends him on his nauseating radio segment.
  5. Pascoe does interview with Buzz Rothfield defending his idiocy and showing absolute zero self awareness.
  6. Sheens saying he hopes we can win during the bye round.
  7. Laurie liking posts of opposition player scoring against us.
  8. Tigers try to sign Mitchell Pearce, tells us to bugger off.
  9. Kepaoa, who has bulked up in the offseason to play in the backrow and performed well all year, moved to wing.
  10. Chris Heighington has his name spelt completely wrong by WT media team on tweet advertising latest episode of 'ask the boss'.

Did I miss anything?

What's your argument though? That Tigers make mistakes, that there are issues with the club? I thought that was obvious already. Half of the things you've listed out are nothings, like Luke Brooks being a loser or Kepaoa playing wing - by the way AJ has played wing for Tigers 14 times in the past.

What's really concerning me are these pile-ons, it's coming from everywhere, every time Tigers put their foot wrong. Worst from Tigers fans.

Consider an analogy: your son makes some behavioural mistakes at school. Is the best course of action to acknowledge his mistakes and plot a constructive path forward, or do you become hugely sensitive and critical to any mistake he makes in the future? Are you understanding and supportive that it's a journey towards improvement, or do you smack him back down at the whiff of an indiscretion?

I don't understand it and it's become so concerning for me. It's a response to the lack of wins of course - none of this stuff would matter if Tigers were winning footy. But because we are not winning, it's gone the opposite way and everything stupid has become super-serious.

I've said it before: I can't wait for Pascoe to get the sack or resign. Because then it will at least give us some little breathing space where fans are not clamouring for someone to blame for everything. I don't think the head of Pascoe will make a difference for the footy results, I truly do not, but he's become such a toxic figurehead that I think as fans we need the break.

But I also think as fans we have a responsibility to understand the position the club is in, and not get hysterical every week when some minor indiscretion comes up. Sure, Daine Laurie should not have liked a try by Cobbo, but really why does anyone care?

I got told many years ago, when I liked to do football analysis (on-field play) - when I had time to do football analysis - that "only wins matter". And that's something I took to heart. But your list of 10 points makes it appear that actually, wins aren't the only thing that matter, unless you have a lot of wins already in the bank. Instead, until you bank a respectable amount of wins, actually "everything matters" and there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I've tried, I've tried in the other forum to provide a counter-opinion, some kind of balance, but as you are all aware there's a lot of howl-downs, and it's become a little "echo-chambery" for the shouters.

Of course people are free to get upset about the jersey, but I think it's such a nothing issue whilst we are trying to find the road to success. I'm not interested in spending much time being concerned about it, rather I am concerned about the level of the fanbase's response.

But you never think anything is a big issue. You dismiss everything as hyperbole without recognising that all these things add up. My argument is that the most unprofessional team in the NRL that are coming dead last are shooting themselves in the foot every week by having no self awareness and zero attention to detail. As most of us have faced in our professional life, when things are going badly it's incredibly important to do the little things right. We're not getting the little things right and it shows.

I think I understand where @Jirskyr is coming from actually. To an extent I have been similarly defensive of Brooks and Pascoe because IMO a lot of the criticism (less common on this forum) is simply mob mentality pile on on a trivial basis and I have defended Brooks & Pascoe, predominantly against the mob mentality. On both of these guys, Ive probably reached a tipping point and the cumulative errors have reached critical mass. As Ive made clear here though, I dont want to see Pascoe merely sacked, we need a systemic overhaul.

Man, you just keep alluding to stuff, "management", "systemic overhaul". Be courageous and specific.

I’ve been a highly engaged supporter of this club since inception however now I just don’t really care. I’m not angry just indifferent. The club just jumps from one embarrassment to another both on and off the field and there is little light ahead. I’ll still go to games but my passion for the club is dwindling.

Well said mate, I'm a bit like you. Disappointed and let down by the head office but will still keep supporting the players.

I've been following the team since 1969. I come from an era where we didn't throw things away but rather just fixed it...from the kettle to the car, we just kept on keeping on. I will not throw away this team.

In the army they teach you that when ambushed you turn and face the enemy and start firering your gun...I wont turn and get shot in the back without helping my team first.

I just pray that the office sorts it's crap out so I can support my team in peace. I try to block out the noise and live stress free.

The thrill and anticipation of actually getting a win is like finding gold. I seriously don't think I would enjoy winning week after week, yeh I'm a sick puppy. 🤣

If we were undefeated thru 5 games, most of this debacle wouldn't get much air time.

I know how hard the modern day footballer trains and plays. I watch the game now from the comfort of my air-conditioned loungeroom and my recliner....frosty tinny in hand. I'm prepared to do the hard yards and hope for a win. 🙏🤞

Life is too short to get our panties in a knot and enter the circus of calling for heads. I'll let the media do that and they're doing a good job.

Meanwhile it's our boys v the slimies and I for one can't wait. Maybe it's members like me who are part of the problem and don't protest. I don't care if I am.

I'll go to my grave a happy man, win lose or draw because I have the best family in the world!

Go the tigarsss😻

Mate, you are clearly not reading my posts at all. Either that or you are just trolling at this stage. Either way, I've been respectful but I am out and wont engage with you about this topic any more. I have been unbelievable specific to the point I clogged the thread a few pages back and I have all the courage I need to discuss a rugby league club on a forum.

You are welcome to check it out yourself, but you clearly havent to date so Ill leave you to it.

@helmesy if we can believe Paul Kent...

Tigers said they could suited with Holdsworth and Kent apparently contacted defence force in Canberra ? if I hear correctly on 360.

Pascoe should put his hand up that they used a stock image but I think Kent and Hooper etc on 360 need to make 100% sure the club didn't speak to someone at Holdsworth barracks to clear the photo.

if this is true and not just a misunderstanding (I thought they worked with Holsworthy not the ADF) than there is nowhere left for Pascoe to go.

It’s one thing to make an error it’s a completely different thing to lie to cover it up.

Pretty "slippery" article and wording by Kent. I understand the desire to put the boot into the Tigers at an obvious serious error, but kent says here "the Tigers lied about collaborating with the Defence Force" and "no one from Holsworthy Barracks had spoken to the Tigers."

This seems pretty shady. Arent the publicity photos with Bateman and the NRLW player (dont know her name sorry) taken at Holsworthy, on defence force equipment? Would be hard to do that without talking to Holsworthy or some level of collaboration. I'd have thought defence facilities would be reasonably secure. IMO Kent is being as slippery as he is accusing the club. Im sure DFAT said they didnt pick or provide the images but its almost impossible that there was no discussion.
