What are we thinking is the most likely/expected scenario? Brooks did say he would be more selfish next contract and there are reports he met with the Knights last week, it’s also believed he asked for a release to join the knights last off-season.

I think he ends up at Newcastle. The Adam O’Brien interview last week made it pretty clear that the Knights are still interested. With OBrien’s job on the line in 2023 there is no way he starts next year with two of Gamble, Clifford & Clune as his halves.

I believe Tyson Frizzell will come the other way and join WT.

From what I know of Brooks he stays for 2023 as he is keen to be coached by Sheens and signs on for 24 and 25

Newcastle: more wishful thinking than reality. Sheens seems keen on him staying.

I think he’ll request a release to join Newcastle and we’ll grant it.

This Newcastle thing won't go away. Brook's manager must be negotiating with both Clubs. It's all about money. The Knights will want WT to contribute at least half if he goes. WT will want to contribute less. That might be the sticking point. If the price is right he'll go. If they can't work out a deal then he'll stay. If this is correct it doesn't fill me with confidence about how he will perform next season with WT. I think it's better for him and for WT if there is compromise and a deal is reached soon.

I cant imagine letting Brooks go for 2023 after letting Madden go. We would be incredible light on for halves. IMO it would be on the same level of stupidity as Newcastle letting Pearce go without a replacement.

A very Wests Tigers thing todo though. Remember it’s not about 2023 or 2024 but it’s about 2025 when Benji takes over.

The club has basically given the green light for failure for at least another two years so who needs a halfback now…

I just do not understand the reasoning for Sheens to want Brooks extended , there needs to be a new 7 signed the Brooks era has to end at this club .All the failure of late can not all  be placed on Brooks but there needs to be a reset at No 7 . It was a mistake and another failure of the club making Sheens the head coach it was just a lazy decision and Sheens was at the club .Brooks has failed to step up he would be much better served to try his luck at another club .. will he stay at the club ? if personality has anything to do with it yes .. this is one reason his game has never improved not a risk taker !

@mike Benji will be long gone before his tenure would begin .. this is all folly . I can see Farah move into a bigger role within the club I think that is where his strengths are !
