Luke Brooks has allegedly been trying to get out of the club and has another year to run on his contract.
Jock Madden is off contract at the end of 2022.

If I had to choose our halves now i'd probably run with Hastings and AD. I think they have the ability to create a bit more than Brooks and/or Madden. In saying that, Madden has only played a handful of NRL games so it's probably too early to make a call. He seems to try hard every game which is a good quality.
I think Brooks is a talented player that has been ruined in our system. I think a change of scenery would do him the world of good and I hope he has success wherever he goes.

Yes I definitely think when Doueihi is back from injury priority needs to be given to him and Hastings in the halves going forward.
Brooks just hasn’t got what the WestsTigers need and that is a confident halve back that can lead and direct this team around the field, so I’m more then happy to call it a day with Brooks and let him and the WestsTigers move on.
I’d re-sign Madden for about another 12 mths as a back up. His still a work in progress with his defence etc.
Keeping in mind that we have future talent coming through the ranks in the halves as well. So we don’t want to lose them by making the same mistakes of the past by signing the wrong players now.

Realistically next year we have two very good players in our spine, being Api and AD. We are desperate for a proper 7 who can control the game. It’s definitely not Brooks and I’m not sure about Madden.
When AD is back maybe try him at 6 with Madden at 7 and Hastings at 13 and see how it goes. This year is a good opportunity to try out some combos.
As for fullback I haven’t given up on Laurie but he’s been disappointing this year for sure.
Brooks is not an organiser. He is a runner. He is not a halfback. The good halves play chess on the field. No one taught Brooks how to play. We desperately need organising halfback & a fullback.

I’m not sure what the issue is, he’s a hell of a player though. Given where we are we don’t really have much to lose. I’d be going hard at him. He’s a winner.
How has this club not resigned Madden.
The guy has skills, Desire and the courage to organise.
