From the kick off, if the ball travels past the 20 metre line on the full, it’s a seven tackle set.
Wow. I can see the obvious tactic of trying to evade CTE responsibility but that would fundamentally change the game.
Clever players like Cleary will belt the ball low and aim for the sideline
Personally, I dislike any rule or law that governs to the lowest denominator. In this case, it's poor tackling technique that's the culprit but let's punish the game instead.
This new rule will likely have impacts on the play and the game that haven't been thought of yet. Can't we at least give this an extensive trial period in the pre-season and end of season games that are dead rubbers?
It’s implemented to stop the collision obviously… but yeah it will favour some teams over others. But just yet another ‘rule change’ how many more will they think of. There’s only 4 more months left until the season proper 😂🤣
For me this will lead to more blowouts, becomes so much harder to stop a team that has the momentum in the game.
