I’d like to address the topic of the Campbelltown crowd as mentioned on the latest podcast.I can’t recall who made the comment, but the inference being that with no curtain raiser matches it leaves the crowd rather flat and underprepared for the action. That’s a great observation and one I hope is dealt with going forward. It is also utterly mystifying why you wouldn’t want your lower grade outfits playing to a packed house, for the pure player experience rite of passage, let alone for the hometown advantage.I really hope the politics of this scenario did not override commonsense and the common cause. If so it’s a situation that should never be repeated.
Solid first 6 minutes. Getting a penalty and forcing a drop out. Look much better with Galvin out there.
Great pass from Bateman to put Junior over untouched. Great stuff
Penrith lucky to keep the half back on the field who ankle taps Olam before he had the ball when he had a clear run to the line.
Opportunity for Staines but he can’t take the pass in from Naden. Looked to be behind the play.
Panthers score after a Tigers drop the kick under the posts. Ball spread to the corner for the try 6-4 ktc
After a period of back and forth Junior drops in easy one to give Penrith a chance from 20 out
Penrith score in the corner with simple catch and pass out the back.
A few tackles on our line but we hold them out and they make an error.
Junior off with a leg injury. Reshuffle in the backline now. Naden to left wing and Bateman to right centre.
10-6 to Penrith at half time. Right in this but need to lift a little as Penrith are looking on
Penrith lucky to keep the half back on the field who ankle taps Olam before he had the ball when he had a clear run to the line.
A more cast-iron sin bin, you will never see. Pathetic refereeing.
Sezer and Papali'i on report. Sezer was lucky not to give away a penalty for running into the kicker.
Didn't see what Papali'i got done for.
Ref is letting them lay all over us. It is so noticeable Penrith’s play the ball speed is so much faster than ours and it’s not all because we aren’t dominating in the tackle.
