Listening to the preview podcast I was struck by Eddy’s excellent point (against Garry and Steve and their fantasies about finishing mid table) that 8 wins this season would be a 100% improvement on 2022-2023.
Tonight shows us how far we’ve got to go. That was a poor effort. We remain a team that other teams can boss around. The Dragons got a whiff of our lack of intensity and they were away.
Galvin was the obvious bright spot. But he’s as green as our coaching staff. Bula is a great talent. Api tried too hard. The defence was soft and the attack was mostly uninspiring. Off season worries about Olam’s fitness seem well founded. And while we’re at it, Papalii stunk, as did Toa and Kepoa. I don’t think any of them deserve a first grade spot for Round 2 on tonight’s showing.
This side is not finishing higher than 14th, and that might be optimistic. And yes, I hereby acknowledge it was just a trial.

I was wrong with suggesting Seyfarth to 13 for round 2 against raiders
to be fair with tonight's performance it is all about the cattle you have around you.
Sezer played well with the players he had around him, and a player like Brooks will look like Brett Kenny in that manly side with turbo and dce
