Brooks’ kicking game in good field position was poor yesterday. Very disappointing given he had been pretty good the last month.
johnson/brooks bridge to the juniors is my preferred option then picking up a talented but unproven young half from elsewhere.

The break he made was a great ball he received from Bula and he bottled it by doing a poor kick.
Bula was unmarked on his right - would have strolled in under the sticks. He didn't even take a look.
We need to get Bula more involved in the red zone. He's big, quick and has great soft hands. I was pretty wary of him being promoted before he was ready, but couldn't have been more wrong - he's got it.
Comparing Brooks to Wakeham is pretty unfair. You’re comparing a guy on minimum wage who came to play backup to one of the highest paid players in the game. I think Brooks is the better player but he’s delivering value to the team that is about $800k below what he’s getting paid. Wakeham is performing as he should given what he’s paid.
Our problems are ALL our halves. None of them are part of the solution.
When they run over the stripe it doesnt matter how much they are paid. Brooks doesnt have a contract for next year. It is completely valid and not unfair to compare the two because unless we sign 2 NRL standard halves, we are likely to be keeping one.

I thought this earlier in the season but they’ve had the perfect opportunity to announce it after a couple of good wins and good performances and didn’t. I don’t think he is signed and they are in no rush because they know he doesn’t want to leave Sydney and no one else wants him. He’s the “we can’t get anyone else to sign” back up.
