We are looking to update the forum rules, these are the proposed new rules. I will leave these here for the next 48 hours, if anyone has any suggestions let me know before then. After 48 hours I will make these the new forum rules.
Forum Rules
- We intend to have an inclusive, safe and harmonious community, therefore the posting of political, religious or contentious current issues are not permitted on this forum. Any thread or post that the moderators feel breeches this rule will be deleted from the forum.
- No spam. All automated messages, advertisements, and links to competitor websites will be deleted immediately.
- Post in relevant sub-forums only. Messages posted in the wrong topic area will be removed and placed in the correct sub-forum by moderators.
- Respect other users. No flaming or abusing fellow forum members. Users who continue to post inflammatory, abusive comments will be deleted from the forum and users placed on mod review or possibly banned from the forum.
- No threats or harassment of other users will be tolerated. Any instance of threatening or harassing behaviour is grounds for deletion of the comments from the forum and potentially banning of the user.
- Adult content. No profanity or pornography is allowed. Posts containing adult material will be deleted and the poster will be at risk of being banned from using the forums.
- Illegal content. No re-posting of copyrighted materials or other illegal content is allowed. Any posts containing illegal content or copyrighted materials will be deleted and the poster will be at risk of being banned from using the forums.

To be honest it is just an orphan from wherever the original rules came from, now you have pointed it out I will probably take it out of the final rules. People have posted links to WTF here many times and they have never been deleted. The only link I ever deleted to there was a post containing language I deemed inappropriate for this site. I still post on both forums and a number of other users do as well.
Though I do remember a couple of posts of mine being deleted over there for promoting this forum :p

@garry I've deleted a post which quoted a post from the WTF. The main reason was because the orignial poster wasn't a member on this forum, they didn't get a right if reply and it was more like speaking behind someone's back.
But I don't think that is what that rule is referring to?

That is probably fair as well and something I hadn't considered, but I agree that is not what that wording would be referring to.

After thinking about it could be used as meaning direct links to other pods, I have no problem with people discussing other pods on here but a direct link to a pod about the exact same topic as ours probably wouldn't be appropriate and for that reason I will probably leave that line in

Gotcha Garry.
I'm only protecting you/us from WTF talking about us in a negative way, or being branded hypocritical.
I know it has happened before when I was a moderator and had to delete posts and warn members not to sling crap on each other.
Thankfully that has seemingly settled down now and I think it's because a lot of their members enjoy the podcast. It's a brilliant platform that will secure the health and longevity of this forum.
The members that I talk to or email say that it's not an issue anymore. 👍
If others on the WTF are reading this post I would never say anything but good things about them as I still respect them very highly.
I know both forums at times use each others material and that isn't a sin ias long as we don't claim their material as our own, if you know what I mean. Sometimes it's often just quoting the same media.
I've read posts on a totally different forum that was a cut and paste job of mine and they claimed it was theirs. 🤣
I've read heaps of our posts from the past to get a feel for members quirks and I've seen a development in the quality of members posts and your work especially the effort that's gone into things like player profiles. I love the new forum topics, thankyou.
Before I go to sleep I asked you a couple of weeks ago to help reduce the amount of detail when someone replies to a post.
I know of a modification that shows a snippet of the originator's post and if you want to see the whole post you click on a drop down box that shows the snail trail.
This is great to stop several members repeating a war and peace effort.
You came up with the floating quotation marks which has improved things out of sight. Can you find out if the above modification is available for this forum version as well as the other modification your seeking??
As I said before Garry, I'm happy to be a sponsor for such things.
Until that happens I'm thrilled with the floating quotation mark. (I see this mainly as a mobile phone user friendly option)
As to my frustration with posting pics it's not helped by me using an odd browser and will have to change to chrome when using forum.
