We're almost there. Who do you expect to see in our first trial team?

Yes, excellent point. Even 1/2 a game.

My predictions

Madden and Andrews in the halves to start the game this weekend.

I would hope that some of the other back ups like Mav Geyer and Kit Laulilii get good minutes. I hope Tony Sukkar and Sol Saukuru also show something as we have invested a lot in their development.

It would be good to see Heath Mason trial at #9 because we are short in that position although I have always rated Bailey Hodges in that role.

We will need to find a backup right centre in the trial games because it does seem as though Toa is still carrying an arm injury. I believe Makasini and Luke L are left side only so that would leave the likes of Patrick Herbert and maybe even Pheonix Godinet stepping up that role?

Whoever is playing I hope that WT show a little bit more fitness in the back end of both halves this weekend. Our fitness was poor last year, I seem to recall 7 or 8 games where we let in tries just before half time.

I like it. Roosters have named a solid side so should be a good hit out.

Will be very excited to watch this team, our first glimpse of a few newbies and what probably looks like a lot of NSW cup team.

Am surprised Maverick Gyer and Ethan Roberts are not in the squad.

Anyone else were surprised to see or not see?

Ethan Robert’s is injured. I was looking forward to seeing him in the all stars match. Just big Royce now.

Just a little reminder that we are continuing the tradition and would love to get your one word submission after each game again this year.

My one word for season is expectation. Last year it was hope, but now with the squad we have and the talent shown last year, this is I have real expectations of success (top 8) and anything else will be failure

Watch Attard too, he’s pretty sharp. Haywood will do his job, nothing fancy, he’s more a nuanced kind of player, a bit similar to Egan at the Wahs, but Attard might cause a problem or two. There’s plenty others, Iverson Mattai gets better each year so he could provide something later on. Jock Madden has been very good at training. A good challenge for many of the youngsters.
