One word - typical

So many bad signs of the old tigers tonight. Nowhere near good enough against a really average team.

@tgrzmn The difference between Gray and Bula is Gray runs straight and has strength and leg drive in tackles.. Bula just submitts when tackled .I find it difficult to believe the club are paying that huge amount for him TBH!

Bula ran 190m, 140m excluding  kick returns and he had 74m post contact m, better than anyone else including our forwards and including Jye Gray. Bula did more hard yards than anyone else today, I swear I  dont know what game some people are watching. Also stopped Latrell.

Tigers won the yardage battle tonight like no Tigers team I have seen for many many years. Anything but typical.

Agree. And, yet he remains unsigned. Unfathomable.

Bula is a star. The best position-specific player WT have, IMO. My only hope is that whatever other clubs offer him, WT get the last option to match or better it. He cannot be let go elsewhere.

@teddy_s I think there is depth in the halves even though inexperienced to cover until Laui returns. The pack is solid and will lay the ground work so a large part of the equation is in place ..hopefully no kneejerk reactions by the coach.

and you can add the revolving doors with our backs and a fullback that just doesn’t chime in enough. We didn’t have a wretched injury crisis last season, but that now seems rectified.

next week will be interesting with who plays where. You’re right we do have depth but what we don’t have is our coaches not recognising we NEED a dominant halfback. And the one only we have hasn’t played a minute of football.

All of a sudden a lot of responsibility falls to the feet of Madden. Let's hope he's up for it!

adding to that if they were to use Latu from the bench. MAMMOTH task next week facing a flying high warriors outfit in Auckland. It’s my glass half empty tag but we’re not playing finals again.

But that isnt what you were talking about. You quite literally said that Gray "has leg drive" in tackles and Bula "just submits" in tackles when Bula quite literally had more than twice as many post contact metres. Also didnt need "stats" if you just watch the game. Bula did twice as much dirty work as he usually does. He also noticeably changed his game last night to immediately sprint directly to the oncoming defence rather than try to run to a hole which I noticed is different to usual.
