@barra There is also an issue with the extra 2 on the bench … depending when reserve grade is playing over a weekend you can not just sit players on the bench with no regular game time .
It’s certainly going to be interesting seeing how coaches manage this as game fitness needs to be maintained while also having bums on the bench .
@mercy-rule The Cowboys game will definitely be a bench mark for the team .. the Cowboys love Leichhardt they looked very good on the weekend and will have a game under there belt . They are going to be hard to beat , I just hope the team can play for a full 80mins as 60mins has been the bench mark for a few seasons now !

I think this is what it should be, the bench might be slightly different.
This has been an issue I’ve had since hearing of the 6 benchers. I mean last year only 16 were getting regular minutes, players 17 and 18 just don’t play many minutes at all. Could they play half a game in cup then shower and suit up for the bench in FG? Maybe not someone in your prop rotation but a spare half, back or hooker could possibly get away with it. Even your #20? I assume there will still be a hia replacement.

But it does conflict with the popular opinion that Cup teams play the curtain raiser game before their NRL side.
There is one advantage to having the round 1 bye... Cowboys suffering some injuries and potential suspension too. I wonder what the post Vegas win/loss ratio is?!

I would have rather the Cowboys won. Coming off a loss and playing us in round 2 will make the Cowboys hungrier for a win.
