I agree with the one word being Haywood. His service was slick and precise, with plenty of no-look about it too which just held the defence up that fraction of a second longer. He is a real prospect and must be the 14 moving forward, and getting some good minutes too.
I thought that Makasini really tried to play with more confidence tonight. Boy doesn't he get targeted by yhe opposition. They all know he's got yhe goods.
Standouts forward was Pole for mine and Samuela was strong when he was on. Hope he isn't kept out again with an injury.
Another word could be cohesion. Warriors had it and we don't.
@joel look I doubt he will change too much against the dogs. We’re usually up for games against Canterbury. But Makasini can’t play first grade again this season.
@teddy_s Marshall will run with Makasini all season and that’s probably the right thing to do .. it’s apparent that he is having a big dig the reality is that he is learning on the job and to be frank it’s the best way to learn . A full off season with all that experience he has garnered from this season should set him up for a good 27 !

I said I wouldn’t come back to be disappointed again. Last night was one of many performances marked by a shapeless, directionless Tigers attack. Doueihi’s limitations as a half (replacing the now banished Madden) were obvious. Luai at No. 6 was erratic and below par.
We now say goodbye to our marquee signing. It’s likely unsettled the team, a flighty group easily put off by distractions like this.
I like Luai and think he’s done a lot of good at the Tigers.
But here’s the rub. The Tigers have not had a good halfback since Robert Lui. They have tried and failed to turn a bunch of No 6s into halfbacks - Luke Brooks, Benji, Moses Mbye, Josh Reynolds, Lachlan Galvin, Jerome Luai, Adam Doueihi. Arguably we’re about to do it again with Latu Fainu.
A few genuine halfbacks have come to the club, most of them below NRL standard. Hastings was serviceable but obviously has issues fitting in. Aiden Sezer was at the end of his career.
My point is this. No. 7 remains arguably the most crucial player in the team. We’re on a 15 season run without a good one. Funny enough that’s also how long it is since we played finals.
Fix this and maybe the drudgery of watching this mediocre team play out season after season in the bottom half of the table will end.

I really think Hastings was our last true halfback… yes take out all the negatives of Jackson. Considering the forwards we had at the time he actually guided us around the field. He did so in his first year at the knights also.One word - I’m going long term. It’s Halfback.
