Looks like Pole will be playing Thursday night.

I wonder who described Pole as such? Sheens has a penchant for this, hopefully the comparison is not in the same vein as Morris/Cronk was!
Anyway, I'm a big fan of Pole and look forward to seeing him become his own best player this year.
WestsTigers 24 players listed against Warriors
Good young team, good to see Matamua maybe a bolter at 13 for round 1 ?
Feledy will be good to see as well as Bula.

I think Matamua will start in the 13 in round 1, it's not what I would do but I think it will happen.

@garry big ask, do you think joffa won't be fit mate ? or will he go into prop rotation ?
I kind of wonder if Twal will make the 17 ?
Interesting that Stef has been named captain for this one.
interested to see what our structure looks like in this one and a good hit out for the fringe players.
not sure on that Pole comparison, just let these kids play and prove themselves

I think Sheens has massive wraps on Matamua and from what I have seen he has spent a lot of the off season in the 13. They also upgraded him to top 30 and now that we have filled out top 30 that shows they intend to use him early in the season.
My preference would be to use him from the bench but it would not surprise me at all for him to start round 1. He really needs to be a leader in Thursday's game to show that he is ready for the 13 role.

Stef, Api and Joffa were the players at the leadership day last week.

Joffa would be a good captain if given the opportunity. Only concern would be minutes played
Media, they love hyperbole when no news of note. So build something out of nothing to get clicks. Good work if you can get it. And in this case, as in many, they’re way off target. Pole has a good future, that’s as far as it goes but that won’t get many clicks.I wonder who described Pole as such? Sheens has a penchant for this, hopefully the comparison is not in the same vein as Morris/Cronk was!

Is tonights game being telecast anywhere?
Edit: I have COVID brain, I realise that the game is tomorrow night...on Fox
I look forward to seeing what this Reilly can do at 5/8. It was difficult to get a gauge on his abilities last year playing centres for the Magpies. The rot affecting the NRL side had perpetrated the whole club with the Magpies just as disappointing. It would have been a challenge for him switching codes and joining a struggling side mid-season. But with that experience and a full preseason we should start get a clearer picture of what he’s capable of.
