Turuva try on the end of a backline move with shape, depth and Bulla chiming in too. Everything that has been missing through preseason and round 1. Exciting stuff.

Pretty scrappy from both teams otherwise.

Pretty clunky and frustrating half, but Bula was the bright spot all half and chimed in nicely for the Turuva try then set up that try on half time. Galvin looks better just running the right side. Luai is still finding his role and combinations but has had a few nice left side shifts to create chances.

Second half will be very telling to see if our boys have learnt anything in the off season about playing for the full 80 mins and closing out a game for the win.

3. Bula (completely changes our attack. Hope he’s not injured)

2. Taruva (3 tries and lots of work out of back field)

1. Douhie (goal kicking, solid in defence and offers something in attack)

notable mention: I though Toa played well

1 word. Grind. We got into it even with errors and defended well. Result came off that. Well done boys 🐅.

My word: Improving. Defence was good, handled the limited attack the Eels threw at them. The attack was clunky, then hit a purple patch either side of half time. The difference in attack was mostly Bula, but Galvin was also much more dangerous. Good signs. The Dolphins aren’t looking great, let’s rest up after a draining game and reset.

One word: solid

Some good goalline D in that 2nd half. The wingers worked hard & still managed to be effective in attack. The interchange bench didn't let us down. Some good building blocks all-in-all. The combinations will get better
