i think Turuva was manhandled whilst on the ground after the parra try earlier, he was just responding in kind. Ref ignored turuva being thrown to the ground however sin bins turuva for doing the same, I think that is why the other player was marched to even it out. Plenty of calls were missed that favoured parra in that game and the players can only cop so much in what was already an emotionally charged game. Turuva has been huge for us so far this year so I'm giving him some leeway here. If it continues then I will criticise. Was a bit disappointed with Turuva yesterday. His brain explosion that saw him sin binned followed by the carry on on the sideline was over the top. He was brought across to improve culture but it looked more like he had been "tigerised" instead. We needed cool heads out there yesterday and he and others totally lost theirs and eventually lost the game as well.
How do they miss the head-high in that first tackle? How do they miss the blatant strip on Pole (& why couldn't/didn't we challenge)? How did the bunker think the Fainu tackle was a hip-drop?
We need accountability & transparency from the referees association. We need to know what they intend to do to eliminate these mistakes. The bunker was introduced to fix blatant errors, but if the bunker is making blatant errors where does the game go next?
My one word would be Deflating.
The whole week has been like that with Galvin and then the final bit of air left the tyre vs the eels
The reality is that Benji seemed a bit emotional yesterday in the media he did. As much as he tried to come across as in control I think he is a guy who feels and expresses his emotions and that’s what endears him to the players. The team however needs to keep its head and become more clinical however. The way we responded to adversity wasnt good enough and I think that’s largely on Benji

Agreed. He's been incredible so far this season, but yesterday was very much an off day. Bad miss on the first Addo-Carr try, lost his head a couple of times, and then botched the break leading to the Addo-Carr intercept.
Hopefully a one-off rather than the new norm.
Just worked up the courage to watch this game on replay after being there live. I have never in my life seen such a disgraceful refereeing performance. The eels were playing up every touch milking everything and the ref just lapped it up. Penalties and 6 agains at the end of sets that lead directly to tries, the hip drop was just an insane penalty where S Fainu never even lands on the legs, escort penalties that were just garbage and were replicated by the eels for no reply. And the eels are just a horrible team to watch, how anyone could support these grubs is beyond me. Their 9 was offside virtually every 5th tackle play. Insane game.

well done rewatching
that alleged hip drop was right infront of me that was a joke penalty
Completely forgot about the "escort". Laughable stuff.
Josh Curran just binned for the identical shoulder charge that Tuilagi made on May last round. My mind boggles that the ref stopped play, called out Tuilagi, put him on report and then just let him play on. Why wasn’t he sent off? The guy got 3 weeks!
Sorenson just binned for heavy contact on Brown off kickoff. Used his shoulder but didn’t hit the head.
Yes and if Mitchell was sent from the field for his unavoidable contact with force, how did Mitchell Moses get to stay on after his attack on LL head, and no penalty try? 🤔
The crackdown has come a week to late and may work against us this week when it didn't help us last week.

Yep, that whole club is a bunch of grubs.
