That game was how round 1 should have finished. We were average in both games but knights were worse in both.

Positives…thought pole played well again. He is in a rich vein of form. May did May things, though I agree with @snake, he could do with some more bennch time. Sione played well off the bench. Samuela played one of his better games as well. Toa and AD making it hard for naden to get back.

Negatives…same as last week - halves and kicking. Skelton hammy also hurt me.

@skippa13 Skelton was not right to start that’s obvious this annoys me that’s a real negative about the selection process especially when there where options , now probable twice the rehab time not real smart!

Maybe Naden gets Skeletons wing spot?

One word: defence

Yes Newcastle were terrible, but our D is world's away from where it has been the last few years. They make good decisions, back each other up and scramble well. The middle is hard to break, which means we don't get drawn in, leaving the edges vulnerable.

Great work with the ‘one word’ submissions team, keep em coming.

Feel free to weigh in on ‘Richo’s Meter’ too. How do you rate the team as of now:

Awful

Poor

Average

Good

Great

??

I’d say average at the moment. 3/6 puts us just above middle of the pack with for and against. If we absolutely flog the Eels on Monday then we could go to above average.

bereft

our attack was bereft of structure, i am  mot so sure that a Luai and Galvin halves pairing is a good thing

I reckon AD needs to spend some time in the halves tbh… Ferry Garry might think not though 😆🤣

On word defence, we made them play poorly as we were in their face in defence with some solid hits and scoreboard pressure. Our attack is still a bit sketchy, however some good signs with Luai taking on the line more often, I would say we are currently average+ our defence gives us the +.

Newcastle were awful, but we were part of the cause for sure

One word: ruthless

Newcastle made enough mistakes to lose 4 footy games, we need to get better at exploiting the opportunities.

Richo meter: average
