One word: potential.
Imagine what this side could do if our halves click & start playing to the levels we know they can get to.
May is the forward leader we've needed for a decade; one of the best signings the club has ever made?
Bludger of a game … but it’s 2 points. Hopefully we regather ourselves to take on the slimes.
Btw Joel that’s my one word Bludger!
Gutted about the last try. Some very iffy calls against us in the last 5-10 that gave them ball and field position to get the try.
Forwards laid a good platform but we were pretty average outside of that. Should have been an absolute thrashing given how bad the knights were.
Still, take the two points and move on.
Well done to the boys, although we are still very disjointed and clunky in halves and we also seem a little confused in the decision making by our 2 Captains.
One word: Scrappy. It was a scrappy win but I’ll take the 2 points. Started off well and then became a bit of a mistake-a-thon in which the Wests Tigers were able to capitalise on.
We are now 7th based on for and against. Top 8 baby.
Incredibly-UGLY-Win (But i will take it)
Bring on the Eels
My one word: ordinary.
We are not a poor side anymore, but we are still just ordinary. We looked OK in patches - the right-edge was strong in the first half, but we never really clicked into gear today. We were also very lucky to be playing a woeful bottom two side - the Knights were dreadful and a top side would have put 60 on them. Still, a win is always something to celebrate!
If we are serious about scraping into the eight this year, we really must beat the other bottom two side next week.
Come on Jarome - find your role and inspire the boys around you.
@skippa13 Galvin has run 200mts side line to side line he is picking apart the attack with his constant labouring across the field running players into the sideline .
One word UNPROFESSIONAL Laui needs to get his finger out ,Galvin wants to take the offer on the table as he will be in the back row within two seasons . The whole offence structure has to be revised the side ways play is an issue the problem is both Laui and Galvin are cross field runners …not enough room on the park for both need a direct runner !A win none the less but that was a very poor performance ,Galvin is an issue !
bereft
our attack was bereft of structure, i am mot so sure that a Luai and Galvin halves pairing is a good thing
My word is “Adequate” - the Tigers played an injury hit opponent down on confidence, and did enough to control and win the game. It wasn’t pretty , apart from the first half right side attack. The forwards did their job in the yardage game and hit hard in defence. The backs took some stopping. Luai was doing a lot on and off the ball.
Newcastle we’re abysmal. Maybe some of that was the Tigers pressure and defence.
But it was frustrating seeing so many sets on the Knights line go nowhere. Galvin was poor. Too often offloads were to players standing still. They threw very little shape at the Knights. And goal kicking remains a problem.
Best were Bula, T’oa, Turuva, May, Sione Fainu, Pole and Bird.
May needs to be rested through the game his play the balls are very slow (gets tired)..IMO is playing to many minutes..he needs a partner ,need another effort player unfortunately Hunt is real taking up space does not really add that much better having someone that can give May a break .
Great work with the ‘one word’ submissions team, keep em coming.
Feel free to weigh in on ‘Richo’s Meter’ too. How do you rate the team as of now:
