One word - competent. We looked like a competent first grade side today. Benji said the team trained hard all week, took a lot of fight and discipline into the game and got a strong win after a bye. First time we’ve done that in 4 years. Our big names took responsibility for delivering the game plan and our re-signings had great games as well.
My word: Harmony. Full credit to Marshall, staff and team leaders for creating a squad that seems to genuinely like and respect each other. I'm not sure where that enthusiastic clapping after a player error came from, or what it's supposed to achieve, but it's surely a better look than Moses abusing a team mate, or the tantrums between Manly players when things went wrong yesterday.
One word - Patience.. I think I may have used it earlier in the year, this group were going to get there, there is a plan. New players and massive changes take time to gel. We are seeing that starting to gel now and in the past few games. With small improvements over the next 3 weeks, bring on 2026.. Definitely lower top 8 prospects and from where we have been.. that is enormous.. Claws Out..
@mercy-rule, I have noticed the past few games that the team has been doing the enthusiastic clapping after an error.. Looks weird, but they are playing better since they started it!! If it's working, don't stop!! 🤣

we are a young team who has no experience with winning and a history of falling apart when we face adversity. I’m sure the smiling and clapping is a way to shake off an error and move on. We are no competing in all games right until the end so we don’t need to worry about an error, we can flush it and go again. It’s a sign of confidence and it’s new and I like it.

Yeah that’s something that really impressed me yesterday. That first try was no individuals issue, it was across the team, particularly if you include the mini break down the right side before koula did his damage. As a fan with significant scar tissue from previous years, I know my head dropped and I immediately thought this is going to be one of those days. But to the teams credit, they kicked off and got their heads into the game straight away. It’s like we have enough new blood and energy in the team not to let WT history and pressure get to us when things go wrong.
Hopefully we get a few more NRL quality recruits for next year and we shed that losing mentality even further. Even our depth for next year seems to be coming from winning systems.
