I agree with this BUT will a change of coach/coaches make a lickin’ bit of difference??@tiger-symmetry Just referring to emotional tantrums after a loss is that recent losses or 2 wooden spoons and the possibility of a third spoon under Marshall as a coach . There is no scapegoat here that horse has bolted there is no reactive emotion this is called failure and entrenched mediocrity , Marshall as coach has failed that’s the reality move on to next season for ground hog day unless he miraculously changes his attitude and finally surrounds himself with professionals that’s my opinion ,my comments are not reactive comments over a loss this is my opinion for years of failure !
I’M EXTREMELY DOUBTFUL 🤨
@teddy_s I suppose the question needs to be asked do the Tigers look like a well drilled side , do the players know there place are moves put on regularly , are the players trained to use effective structures in the red zone ? . Do us as supporters watch other teams play do we see the majority of them being positive to all areas above . The last couple of games should answer all points above and it’s NO to all . Would this team be better placed under Jason Ryles would they look like a team properly coached Yes and why just watch the Eels play and this has happened under 25% less time than Marshall has had ! I will never accept that another coach could not lift this Tigers side I watch enough footy to see a well trained and coached side and the Tigers are far from that but then again a lot think 5 up and kick , no structure .. no idea.. no energy ..no aggression is the sign of well coached side well I don’t just my opinion.
My one word......outclassed. Pure and simple outclassed by a super effective, methodical, professional, robotic machine that is the Panthers.
Seriously dont know what game some of you guys are watching if you think this team "clocked off" or didnt have a dig. Seriously.
Im not sure what experience you guys have but if you are expecting razzle dazzle when the best defensive team in the comp repeatedly pins you in your 20 for 80minutes, but our boys NEVER gave up or didnt have a dig and continued to throw themselves in the breach. Turuva was incredible.
Lots to work on but at the start of the week I said that this game was a last line in the sand and it needed us to stand up and show we would dig in and despite the scoreline I actually sore that tonight.
I agree we were well beaten across the park, but what I witnessed tonight has me worried for the future.
you are obviously entitled to your concern but IMO its unfounded. Penrith were at full strength for close to the first time this season. At this stage of our rebuild, we are not competing with a full strength panthers team playing well which is what we faced last night. Panthers in this phase are a top 4 club/team. At this stage of our rebuild we are competing against teams 6-14 and Im not convinced that we are out of their league.
The fact we never gave up last night and despite the score, despite Panthers massive territorial dominance, our players were still pushing and in a few occasions poking their nose through with the ball, and the Panthers (despite a dominant scoreline) didnt cut us to bits and our defence was still turning up all game.
Unpopular POV based on the hand-wringing here, but IMO we objectively played better last night in a 32 point flogging than we did last week in a 1 point victory. I believe this is objectively true.
You look at what Ryles has done at the Eels in such a short time just reflects the poor coaching the Tigers are being inflicted with .
The same Eels that are equal on points as us despite having 3 byes?
The same Eels that have a worse for/against than us?
The same Eels that were in a GF less than 3 years ago?
What exactly has Ryles done at Eels that reflects on the Tigers?
Parramatta have a structure in both D and A. Something we’re lacking in spadesYou look at what Ryles has done at the Eels in such a short time just reflects the poor coaching the Tigers are being inflicted with .

@tiger5150 Put it this way the Eels will be playing finals footy well before the Tigers ..

Yep, most likely 🙁

I would suggest we have a better structure for rebuilding than they do. They literally have no clear no.6 for next year. In rd 21 they are still testing options. They are currently actively trying to get rid of their highest paid pack players (Paulo, Lane & Matterson). They have ALL of their eggs in the basket of a 30yo halfback who has missed more than 50% of the last two years.

Yep, most likely 🙁
On what basis?
They are literally on the same basis as us after 21 rounds, they fought off a spoon last year, their highest paid player and their only established spine player is 30yo with massive injury history. Their biggest signing has been a 20yo Tigers reject.
One word ‘free’
No longer watching the tigers this year so I’m free

History, we’ve not touched finals in 13+ years and in that time they’ve been pretty consistently in the top half of the comp.

OK so not Jason Ryles?
Tigers players need to watch this dogs manly game and see what physicality in defence and attack looks like. Im sure Bula is in the members section.
I'm amazed by the capacity of @Tiger5150 to lower the standard of contributions here in 2 short weeks. I think he/she/it has confused this forum with that other WT forum. But, if he/she/it has never tried it, I suggest they give it a go, they'll be right at home there.

Is it the not agreeing that is amazing you?
