we simply cannot have Douehi in the halves he is past that, he is playing well at centre leave him there
we have a very good hooker replacement in TDS we will ot lose much if he plays 9
Api can play 7 and push Luai to 6 where he needs to be playing, he is one of the best 6's in the comp a running 6 he needs a good 7 next to him. Api can fill that for a week until latu is fit.
As for next year we need a good quality 7, Adam Reynold's is vital for us for 1 year to steer the ship
we don't want to see naden in the 17
we should be trying to get Harrison Hasset immediately from penrith he seems to go well and is well down the pecking order
perhaps when we have latu at 7 we can move api to 13 during the game and run tds at 9 that might give us some creativity at 13
Prediction is Skelton and fainu will be fit and raring to go. Both to have blinders and quieten the Galvin noise.
It won’t happen but if I was picking the team it would be:
bula
skelton
toa
AD
turuva
luai
Latu
may
api
sione
samuela
Sukkar
bird
bench: TDS, Hunt, seyfarth, kit
I would be resting May and api in the game, and use bird as cover for injuries in the backline. If we insist on playing May for 80 though, I’d switch kit with Staines.
Guess we will find out in 4 hours…
Only issue with Latu and Skelton is if the flight could create a bit of a greater risk related to re-injury. I'm by no means an expert in this area so I could be completely wrong.
@lorenzo yeah fair call. If that’s the case then I’d go Staines to the wing and try my hand with bird at 5/8. Agree with Jedi, we know what we get with AD in the halves, so best keep him in centres where he is playing well. Shuffling api to the halves gives me sheens/farah flashbacks which I don’t want to re-live. Bird has experience and a good footy head. It’s just whether his legs and lungs can hold out for 80.
We will be severely lacking a long kicking game if AD is not in the halves... we're not capable of shifting the ball another couple of passes at the end of the set so he can kick from centre.
I don't understand why he doesn't kick more, has a booming kick that could get us out of trouble and trouble the opposition. Surely not difficult for him to move closer to the ruck on the 5th.We will be severely lacking a long kicking game if AD is not in the halves... we're not capable of shifting the ball another couple of passes at the end of the set so he can kick from centre.
Good news is Samuela is playing, bad news is Naden on the bench. Interesting news is Mason at 6.

I can handle mason in the halves for a week or two. Not sure what his kicking game is like, but it’s not the worst stop gap.
Not sold on Royce starting but I get the logic.
Naden on the bench though is a head scratcher. Certainly didn’t work against Souths.
Anyone know who Charlie Murray is on the extended bench?
Just looked him up as I have never heard of him...Joined the club from Tweed Seagulls in 23, plays lock. Maybe they need a translator that can speak QLDer.I can handle mason in the halves for a week or two. Not sure what his kicking game is like, but it’s not the worst stop gap.
