Joel and Eddie are back with Podcast 11, and we finally have some football to talk about, as the Wests Tigers went down 26-16 to the Warriors in our only Trial Game for 2019.
Losing by 5 tries to 3, some Tigers’ fans walked away a little downcast from the game. However, having had 24 hours to ponder the performance, the boys dissect some of the team and individual aspects to come out of the game.
The discussion covers some of the positives and negatives of the trial, including whether they think playing just one trial was a mistake, and the overall context of a poor trial display.
We dissect the performance of the backs and forwards, and talk about some individual players that impressed, and players that might be under pressure to hold their spots for Round 1.
The boys also discuss whether Michael Maguire has some selection headaches, including whether Benji Marshall or Josh Reynolds should start at five-eight in game 1; should Robbie Farah play 80 minutes; or should Jacob Liddle be in the mix for Round 1?
Where did the Warriors get the better of us, and what do we need to improve on before taking on Manly in Round 1?
Thanks for listening again guys and looking forward to ramping up the coverage in the lead up to the kick-off the 2019 NRL season!!
