Nofo has always been a poor defender and never fast. He’s also always been a liability under the high ball. So why on earth would any person sign him to a 4 year extension at 28? He’s not going to get any better. I also don’t think he’d get a gig at any other team. At the moment he’s the worst winger in the nrl, easily. He’s hopeless.

OK, I'm not going to continue debate this with you because your deep seated hate for the guy clouds your objectivity.  It's like he ran over your cat and kicked your dog on the way to sleeping with your wife.

It's been pointed out many, many times over the years that many of our wide defensive issues - on both sides of the field - start in the middle. He's fast enough and I recall reading somewhere he was fastest at the club over 40 metres. For accuracy's sake, he signed at 27.

According to the web, in 2021 he led the competition in offloads, completing 50, placed 11th for tackle breaks, and 6th in runs. He'd walk into another team.

I have no issue with people bagging players, but ignoring facts and opining purely on a personal dislike destroys any credibility to your discussion. It's akin to a 10 year old stamping their feet.

No I agree 💯 with avocado here. His 4 years extension was unbelievable! I’ll leave it there.

Goes both ways. Nofo has been consistently bad for the whole of his career with no signs of improvement. IF it hasnt happened by now its not going to happen. We gave away another try on the weekend when he came in when he didnt need to.

You're absolutely right, I can't stand the guy. He acts like he's the best player on the planet when he's a dud, and hasn't made a single improvement to his game because his ego doesn't allow him to recognise the flaws in his game. And then after the season ends, when all the fans have had a rubbish year, he posts a picture of himself lazing by the pool with a tagline of "the good life". Not much to like there.

For accuracy's sake, he's in the first year of his 4 year contract and he's 28

Who cares about offloads when he has zero idea how to defend, is slow and has a crap attitude? Tell me the last time he dominated his opposition winger? Or better yet, name a game where he didn't look like a complete imbecile.

He is a senior player in our team and getting paid elite winger money even though he's one of the worst wingers in the comp. And he shows zero leadership. He is the antithesis of the culture you want in a squad.

This Pay Vs Performance Disparity is systemic at the Tigers in the last 17 years.

This is why I have been somewhat thankful that Madge is persisting to try and change the culture Long Term

Nofo has been consistently bad for the whole of his career

A quick google shows this is simply not true.

He was Players player for the Tigers a couple of years ago. He was top try scorer last year going into the final round. Several times he's been in the top 5 of the NRL for metres, tackle breaks and offloads. In 2016 he was our joint leader for tries scored and led the entire competition with 134 tackle breaks. In 2017 he was in the NRL's top five performers for metres gained, tackle-breaks and offloads. He was also was named as a winger in the Rugby League Players Association Dream Team (which I assume is peer selected).

Last year he led the competition in offloads, placed 11th for tackle breaks and 6th in runs. He's also our record try scorer surpassing Benji and Rowdy. In 202 he was Dally M winger of the year with JAC and generally regarded as unlucky not to have played Origin. Apparently Bellamy wanted him as did Parramatta so I guess they must target consistently bad.

I've said many times in the past that Nofo's not perfect - no player is - but he's incredibly maligned. It's actually quite disturbing the hate he gets from 'fans'. Brooks is in the same boat.

A google will show all of that........

My own eyes will show me that he would be responsible for approximately 1 try per game getting through. He has been a terrible defender consistently throughout his career and Sunday showed it hasnt improved and he was responsible for another try on the weekend.

If you are going to be consistently poor in defence you want to be a better strike weapon than JAC in attack and he simply isnt.

In the past Nofo has been good for some dirty carry metres and I have applauded him for that but even that seems to have dried up as he continually scampers sideways. His hands under the high ball also seems to be getting worse.

His defensive weakness makes all the pretty stats you post irrelevant. We are not a good enough team to carry a turnstile like Nofo, let alone on the contract he is on.

No disrespect to the guy but over the past 18 months he’s been no better than Josh Mansour and he barely gets a start at Souths, let alone a four year deal. Madness that he got that deal (same with Musgrove).
