I've started to think about ways that we might see improvement IF there was a coach change. Here's a couple that come to mind

- No more Luciano playing on the right side. It defies logic. Dominant left hand carry = play on the left side of the field + fend on your inside.

- Twal over-running the dummy half every hit up

- Blind loyalty to sub standard players who wouldn't make other NRL sides. No more James Roberts, Joffa.

- One captain instead of five.

Look forward to hearing the podcast though I wont be tuning in for live broadcast.

Cheers

Hey guys

We are going to go through a very tough period over rather next few months with our best forward and our best back both out for at least 10 weeks. Our best half out for another 2 weeks. With an already below average roster with little depth.

I think we are going to a lot of heart and grittiness to get through this year. If we do it could be the making of this young team.

I don't think they will change the captaincy but it's clear Hastings and AD are the leaders of the team. Whe  they are both back, I'd be making them 7 and 6 and giving them the keys to the team. Sign them up long term and make them our spiritual leaders which we desperately need

Also, what's your thoughts on dropping Laurie for Toa? I like Laurie but we need to keep some standards and expectations of the NRL team. And I think Toa would suprise with his strong carries, might put us in a better position starting off our sets.

@frullens I’d be inclined to give Daine more time…. At least another 100 games 🤭

I've been luke warm on Laurie for a while. I think he goes OK but if you compare him to blokes like Jayden Campbell, Reece Walsh, Sloane etc with similar age/experience he's a long way off the pace. Looking at every fullback playing this week, I don't think he's ahead of any of them. Realistically if we did this with the rest of the team it would be similar).

Laurie giving up when Madden made the break was poor. He might have been buggered from defence but you can still jog along in case you're needed. I would drop him this week to try and realign his attitude. He's come here and never been challenged for his spot. I understand he's coming back from injury and might be gun shy but that's exactly why he should be given a run in a lower grade.

I do believe we have an attitude/mentality issue. I thought a little thing on Friday summed it up. They're attacking from 30 out and put up a bomb. Nofo moves back and stretches to get his foot ingoal and catches it for a tap. Sprints to the line and there's still players getting onside. It's a little thing but it's the difference between him making 10-15 metres through a broken defence - after which we might get a quick PTB and some momentum - or allowing them to set a line where they can attack with their defence. Just not good enough.

To'a showed some ability and is worth a shot at fullback - but I can't get out of my head Cini's first game blinder followed by 80 minutes of misery the following week.

I'd also like to know who's talking to them under the posts when scored against. Whoever it is needs to work on their message.

I don't want to make Hastings sound like the messiah but he's head and shoulders over anyone else in the team as far as football intelligence is concerned. It's hard to believe he's younger than Brooks because he has a world more experience. As far as I'm concerned he's the skipper when he's back and the rest can be in the leadership group. I still contend if he plays on Friday we win in the last 10 minutes.

Hi boys, im hoping Madge gets the bullet over the next few weeks, though they tried Friday night he is not the answer, as said today on MMM the club is going in a holding pattern going nowhere.. Who is out there that would be a good fit for the Tigers??? Im hoping for a left field option such as Christian Wolfe, ive heard great things about him in Super League and with Tonga, i would like to hear your thoughts tonight.. Thanks

My question is do you think the team could go winless this year? If not, who could we possibly beat?

another question boys, what the hell has happened to Daine Laurie, he is a shadow of the player last year!!  I would love to see Stafford Toa get a go at fullback on Thursday night, he looks classy on the football field.

Like most here, Id give Laurie a week in reggies, but I dont think this week is the right time. Its almost like he was SO bad last week you cant drop him otherwise completely crush his confidence.

If we are worried about a player getting his confidence crushed after being dropped then I would reconsider if that player is 1st grade material.
