I think I posted this on another thread, but would be awesome to hear your thoughts on whether you think Hastings or Offa (or even Nathan Brown if he comes over) will be our 13 next year?

Literally just finished recording it, I don't think I managed to get across the excitement I felt winning that game.

@garry you'll be all excited out! 🤣

We move on to the Drags.....I just dont want this to be a flash in the pan (like last season) and we build on this. Chalking up 7-8 wins from here would be a nice way to end another bludger of a season and would give the fans some hope...you'd think....

My question is about new podcast

banner ”wests tigers tv”

under it sits

  • weststigerslife podcast
  • Claws out podcast

There was no mention of the WestsTigers podcast.
Has Garry and Steve done the runner!  since they are part the claws out podcast. Has there been a blow up???

That is correct, we are not affiliated in any way with those platforms/podcasts.

@joel that’s sad. So Garry, Steve and Eddie are not going to be part of the OG WestsTigers podcast anymore?

This makes me unhappy, is just like the Holman-Barnes infighting.

This hurts if true. Holman Barnes analogy is good. Also feels a little like losing Tedesco, Moses and woods (who is obviously Garry 😉). Sorry Joel but that makes you luke brooks.

I have to say that, I have listened to the now opposition podcast with Garry Steve & Eddie, but to me it is a hard listen. I much prefer the Wests Tigers Podcast. Quality over Quantity. Some fresh voices with the old master at the "Helmes"  (sorry)

Keep up the good work Joel, I think you guys are giving a much better balanced commentary on the club and the team.

I’ve been sitting on this for a few days trying to work out how I actually feel about the podcast split.

To be honest, I’m disappointed.

Part of what made this pod great wasn’t just the analysis, it was the dynamic. It was chemistry that only comes from years of riding the rollercoaster together. We’ve all lived through the mess of the last decade at the club and the podcast crew did too. The humour, the frustration, the long running jokes, it felt forged in the same fire as the fanbase.

So to see it fracture like this feels…familiar. And not in a good way.

I understand that people move on. Life changes, commitments shift, people will move on. That’s footy and that’s life. But this doesn’t feel like a natural evolution. It feels like a rift. And as Tigers fans, we’ve probably had enough of internal rifts to last a lifetime.

I’m also torn about what to do next. Part of me doesn’t want to “reward” the new pod by listening. But I can’t pretend the original feed doesn’t feel like it’s missing some key input and insight. That entertaining tension and balance is hard to replicate overnight.

What makes it harder for me personally is that I’m in Brisbane. There’s no Tigers pub culture up here where I can get into some old school face-to-face debate during and after a game. The pod and this forum have kind of filled that gap for years. It’s been my Tigers community from afar.

Right now the whole situation leaves a bit of a sour taste similar to the Holman Barnes thing. I hate that something that was a small weekly escape for me now feels tangled up in drama.

Maybe it’ll settle and I’ll harden up a bit and get over it. Two pods are better than one I guess. But for the time being I’m going to take a break and aim my couch coaching and seyfarth slurs at my wife and kids instead.

Curious how others are feeling…

I too was a bit disappointed, however selfishly I have a view that the more content the better. I listen to WT pods in the car on my way to and from work and at the gym, basically any time the kids and wife are not with me, especially during the season. I also like to hear different opinions and views on things and i feel like some pods get into a bit of a groupthink mentality. Much the same was as I look for multiple sources before I form an opinion on anything I hear in the media.
