Thanks for your input mate, your points were very well made and even though we don't 100% agree on the issue it was good to have you on the pod.

Great pod guys, just listened.

Really enjoyed being able to contribute. And good work editing my 5 minute monologue down to something that was a little coherent.

Top 8 2023

Steve touched on the strategic plan from the 23 min mark. It was a good chat

He gave 3 points

one home ground

effective recruitment

experience in leadership

Agree with all of the above. Disagreed with that point that the club is pulling in the right direction.

For those interested, the club published its strategic plan on the website between 2015 and 2017. You can use a tool called wayback machine to access this and other info from the site

KPIs are listed on page 8. The Top 4 plan failed clearly and I cannot comment on the other measures listed but assume that memberhsip and merchandise sales are up since this was published?

Other points I take from the document:

- the club has been able to execute on building the elite training facility. Big tick there

- long term home ground plan has not been achieved.

I link on field performance to these two objectives so I dont think things will turn for us until we get the CoE open and remove Parramatta stadium from our list of home grounds

There was also talk about middle management in the pod but I feel that is of less importance compared to the need for new blood on the board

https://www.weststigers.com.au/about/board/

Id argue that some of the older representatives on the board are due to be replaced and in some cases were never qualifed to occupy a board position in the first place! These are individuals who have been on the board for 10+ years!

It would be handy to run a podcast where there is focus on the board the role plays, how the current board got elected and steps that we (fans/members) can take to get ourselves involved.

There is very little that can be done by fans to change the board.

Make that zero. You basically have to overthrow the Board of Wests Ashfield. Not going to happen in my lifetime.
