@Mike, I’ve given Maguire three years and there are no signs he’s turning this around.
He should have been gone at the end of 2021 and keeping him is just going to delay the pain/decision a bit longer.
It’s the players not the coach. Form where we were to now is a huge difference. Bringing the young players through takes time. We haven’t been able to attract some players but let’s not kid ourselves the facilities we had were atrocious, something I would have used in the ‘70s. That’s about to change with the COE. I know it hasn’t shown in the on field performances yet, but things are coming together nicely. The problems at the Wests Tigers goes much deeper, and again it’s not the coach. You need to look higher up the chain.

There is no reason why the facilities would have played a role in signing players over the last 2 years.

You can’t be serious. Of course it would have. We are in the now generation, players are not going to wait, they will go elsewhere. Once the COE is up, we’ll that’s a different story.

The club has been showing players the facilities with a virtual walkthrough for 2 years, we could have signed players 16 months ago that at the time would have been told that were walking into the new facilities.

Virtual walkthrough vs a real walkthrough? Hmmm I wonder which one I would choose. The real one I can touch and feel of course.

Or the state of the art one that is currently being built that is better than other clubs?

It’s vapourware until it’s operational. Any number of things could delay it. Remember this is the now generation. They have little patience when they can get the same thing elsewhere immediately.

Yeah, I don't really buy that.

@mike fully agree there are more issues up the chain than Maguire, but, to quote Garry, two things can be right or wrong at the same time.
I’m not seeing any real signs of him being able to maximise what he has at his disposal and/or adapt his players to meet the needs of the game under these rules.

@helmesy I can understand your concern, particularly when you watch some of our games last year.
But the board did a thorough review at the end of last year, madges job was on the line and for reasons that haven't been revealed that kept madge on.
Those reasons must of been compelling because it would of been easier to sack him.
Since that decision we've played 1 trial game, not something we can yet judge how 2022 will pan out.
Can we give him and the team some support and clean air to try and turn this around?

I’d be more than happy to be proven wrong, only time will tell.
