Just Eddie and Garry for the mid week podcast as the boys preview our game against the Warriors in Auckland on Sunday and discuss the team's recent performances, leadership changes, and player contract situations.

They reflect on Shane Richardson's recent interviews, analyse the impact of key players like Jerome Luai and Jahreem Bula.

The conversation also touches on the significance of the State of Origin series and its implications for the club. T

Eddie takes us through a 'Buy, Sell, Hold' segment, Would 14th be a pass mark this season? Where does Adam Doueihifit in for the rest of the season?  Will Makasini and Taylan May feature in the side shortly? Plus we finish with Yiotis quiz.

Thank you for joining is again on the Wests Tigers Podcast.

Good job 👍 I enjoy the two person pod editions…more intimate 😂

The coaching masterclass with Rob and Adel should be a great listen too!

Thanks guys. I agree with Garry that we can win this week and with Eddie's comment about going for 3 in a row at Leichhardt if we win being a really big carrot for the players this week.

The chat about Adam Doueihi's future was interesting as well. I thought he was huge last Sunday especially with his last tackle kicks. He has a huge boot on him. I left the ground thinking I would prefer Latu in the 14 jersey and AD in at No. 7. This is potentially an unpopular idea but I have the stats to back it up

WT currently rank 16th for Average Kick Metres with 538m per game

We also average 20 kicks on per week. Here are the stats for other teams that currently average 20 kicks per game (by comparison)

Games played Average number of kicks per game Average number of Total Kick Metres per game
Broncos 16 20.9 613.5
Titans 15 20.8 600.6
Knights 16 20.6 606.2
Sharks 16 20.6 603.5
Wests Tigers 16 20.4 538
Dolphins 16 19.9 563.1
Roosters 15 19.9 575

There are some other factors at play of course. We could have more short kicks as our sets may finish closer to the try line (I cannot access stats on this). Nevertheless, WT are long way behind based on limited info.

When Doueihi was halfback last week our team had 19 kicks for 571m (incl 6 grubbers and 1 bomb). These stats really show how good a kicker AD is.

I don't think it would harm Latu's development to see him come off the bench for the rest of the season. Seyfarth has been relegated to limited mins as a bench lock of late and I think Latu can and should take that role instead. I was resigned to Doueihi leaving but I think his kicking game is too good to ignore!

Good pod as always.

Only one problem i have.

Yeah Richo went on tv and said we lost 5m over 2years but we have turned it around.

  • How was it turned around? Cost cutting? Saving money? So we fall behind more on the football side. Everyone just presumes it was because a few idiots in uncertain econimic times are going to spend some serious money

I think cost cutting and more corporate dollars.
