Early ball requires go forward too Gary.
you’re wrong to judge our halves in this team, we lose the physical battle.
Api is more important than Isaha imo in season ‘23. We desperately need a nine that engages the defence.
The Brooks bashers don’t have a leg to stand on. It’s never been his fault. He’s in a hopeless team.
Don’t underestimate the influence of second rowers in goal line attack. Our second rowers are flops. Our halves are left to make it all up.
Young players need senior leaders/ forwards to give them confidence. We have a soft underbelly. The good clubs bring young blokes into a winning environment and build their confidence.
We need to get ruthless around our decisions in the football department. We have accepted mediocrity for all too long.
@campo I will be clearer then.
it still happened though douhie reacted to a fan enough for the club to make a statement
Garry's point about AD not "elevating" his outside men is spot on. its all about AD.
AD is our best player.
I'm not blaming any player at our club, until they get a professional system and set up put around them.
Top 8 2023
@tiger5150 but his point is seriously flawed. You cannot simply give the outside men early ball unless you have a thing called momentum. As everyone knows you have to pass the ball backwards in our sport and without forward momentum passing the ball to the centre and winger would result in you going backwards (losing ground). The Roosters ran for over twice the metres we did on the weekend. Talking about our spine is a little ridiculous when our forwards are getting pulverised.

This isn't a new issue with AD's game, it is something I have spoken about for over a year and is even evident in games we win.

@garry our forwards have been second rate longer than he’s been here.

your point about our pack being regularly dominated is an obviously correct observation and definitely and valid point and I would agree with you about this, except for the fact that Brooks, Hastings and even Madden are able to get the ball wide, but Doueihi can not.

Even in games where the forwards lay a platform, where he plays well, he is still very much one out. He is the focal point of everything we do his side of the field, it makes us very one dimensional.
I am not trying to bag AD, I want to re-sign him, he is the best centre in the club, I just think he is a long way from being the 6 that we need.

I have also stated for a long time that our forward back is very unbalanced, we really lack a high impact middle forward to help create space and disrupt the defensive line. It is why we have had to rely on block plays for so long as we are always attacking a set defence and the only way you break down set defences in the modern game is with block plays.
