It was a huge night at Campbelltown Stadium with a sell-out crowd desperately trying to get Wests Tigers across the line.

But, with a fourth straight win on the line, Wests Tigers just couldn't get the job done against an injury-ravaged Brisbane Broncos, going down 21-20. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel, Nick, and Josh pull apart the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Tigers' performance. Some of the main talking points include:

  • Should Samuela Fainu be considered for NSW Origin selection?
  • Should Heamasi Makasini be dropped to regain some confidence?
  • What to do with the Wests Tigers halves?
  • How Wests Tigers won on the stats sheet, but not on the scoreboard.
  • How and why the team struggled just before halftime.

Naturally, there are many 'One Word' submissions from the members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. Thank you to everyone who again left theirs. Also, the Richo Meter comes out, and the boys try to answer the question - did the Wests Tigers players start getting a little overconfident before this game? And, is it a good thing we have only a short turnaround before our next game? All that, and a whole lot more on this latest edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!

I was late getting to watch the game this week and so am late to make comment on it also. It certainly left me with Souths game vibes, where won all the stats but lost on the scoreboard. Forwards were great (again) and the defence kept them from crossing for a try in the 2nd half. Just that end of first half lapse that sealed our fate.

Once again the ferocity of our tackles hurt the opposition with Broncos suffering more injuries. Credit to our conditioning team that have our players strong enough to last the 80 mins.

I know Makasini is only young abd will make some errors but to be consistent and maintain standards Benji probably has to drop him to Cup this week. Will do him good and remind the team noone gets special treatment.

A must win against the Raiders coming up to keep our record in the positives and hold onto that top 4 spot.
