Declan is at the end of his rope with this club!

Declan’s commentary re journalistic standards in the NRL are right on point.Poor old Tigers are on a hiding to nothing the vast majority of the time.Unfortunately the only formula to curtail these vultures is purely and simply start winning. In all objectivity we’re a much improved outfit, and with Bula and Luai back, with a few further tweaks I believe there is much cause for optimism in the way we finish this season.Look at The Doggies revival,it simply didn’t happen overnight, they suffered a number of close defeats in the process of reformulating their roster.
I’m predicting a huge game from Luke Laulili and the Tigers to upset the Rorters.🤞
Thanks for the pod guys I enjoyed it as always.
I support many of the points made namely the one from Declan that letting these juniors walk sets a dangerous precedent for someone like Makasini who might have a strong 2026 and then walk as well.
I also enjoyed the chat about Stefano's view that Melbourne have a culture of selfless players and I have a few ideas about why that is.
Melbourne sign stars but they also sign toilers, blokes who are arrive unproven or who have had to work up through the grades.
The TDS contract shows we dont do this often enough. TDS has played 20-odd first grade games and was set to earn at least $500k next season. It's way too much. What would someone like Owen Pattie be on at the Raiders? I suspect nothing near that.
With the remaining 2026 spots we need to sign blokes who have played 3+ seasons in Cup and /or guys with 150+ NRL experience. Veterans like Frizell or Gagai would be able to change the culture even if they play 18th man for that season. This weeks NRL team list highlights how short on experience we are as a squad.
On the Chammas article you only need to watch one of the Terrell Youtube videos to work out that Galvin and TDS are super close. Benji lost faith in TDS after the Galvin disaster so was happy to show him the door as well.
Thanks guys, the commentary showed maturity at a rough time for the club, appreciate it.
For those who have expressed concerns over Benji joining in the training skirmishes, I think that the recently reported altercation between AD and Benji over a tackle would suggest that they are not just playing touch footy at training. If he gets upset at Benji tackling him then what will happen when Angus Crichton comes a calling?
You can only hope that aggression translates to game day.
