Our latest edition. We try and find SOME logic in the decision to let TDS leave mid-season (for nothing in return), and look at what went wrong in our 6th straight loss. https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/another-tough-time-for-wests-tigers-fans/

Wow‼️what a pod of what if’s and maybe’s. Is the club repairable is my take on things right at the moment. I know one point that sticks in my head from 3 or maybe 4 seasons ago, is a comment from Garry. It surrounded the rebuild of the time and Garry saying ‘this is the most important rebuild of wests tigers history’.

Because from that moment to now the club and its supporters are sitting in a loop, waiting for a revival. At the moment I’m not sure whether we can get out of it.

It is quite true that we could really use TDS on our side this weekend and so the decision to release him early is probably a bad one. What is even worse is that he has gone to strengthen the Eels' line-up and we are in a 3 way battle with them and Titans to stay away from the spoon. Why would you make that even harder than it is?

I really am looking forward to seeing how Benji can pull together any sort of team out of what we have available this weekend. The "Coaching vs Cattle" argument will be highlighted this weekend. Latu will be the only current spine member and he has been there for 1 round as a starter. AD was amongst our best last week but he tends to dominate the halves when he plays there and overplays he hand a little.

TDS looks as though he didn’t want to be here to be fair. It’s up to the coach’s to band the remaining squad together now and a huge games starts Sunday. Next 2 weeks will see what resolve the coaches and players have.

Enjoyed the podcast guys even if it was recorded in difficult circumstances.

The decision to release TDS is certainly a head scratcher.

There is no obvious reason why we would release him before the end of the season but I think I have a POTENTIAL explanation (or at least a conspiracy theory).

I think most of the Easts Tigers Q Cup players we have signed in the past two years are managed by Shane Richardson's son.

Tristan Hope is one of them. Hope stands to benefit hugely from TDS leaving. I suspect he's going to be re-signed straight away.

The more Easts Tigers graduates that Benji plays the more job security he has. The same goes for Aaron Payne at Cup level.

In an video interview before Xmas 2024, Shane Richardson said Justin Matamua was among the club's better off season trainers. Then come January, Charlie Murray is signed. Matamua plays one game at lock before he is punted for Murray. The Magpies lose 8 of their next 9 games but Murray remains at lock.

It's clear that Shane Richardson's relationship with Easts Tigers players is either a conflict of interest and/or influencing selections and recruitment.

If we had recruited someone externally today to replace TDS then I would have no reason to question Richo's integrity. The fact that did not happen means questions must now be asked.

Steve mentioned that there had not been enough practice in getting Toa the ball in space. The team would have trained over the off season with Luai and Galvin, Fainu had a lot of injuries and maybe hasn't practiced with the squad enough.

Richo meter doesn’t go low enough for Wests Tigers. Poor doesn’t cut it… it was BAD.
