Really enjoyed this edition of the pod. I think the absence of a game to discuss opened the discussion to broader topics and I really enjoyed the way that Eddie, Garry & Steve analysed these topics. More of it.

Not really in direct relation to the discussion, but I was prompted by the boys discussion of Adam Doueihi's recent form......I agree with the boys that he has played well in the last month of so, I thought he was best on the park against the Dogs and probably we dont win with him. He had a FANTASTIC game.....but he didnt have a fantastic game as a halfback.

I agree with (I think) Steves point that AD is a "footballer" and he had a great game as a footballer against the dogs, but it wasnt a halfbacks game. He didnt direct the team around the park, he didnt particularly shine with any sort of a  passing game. His long kicking was great but no short kicking game. The parts of his game that were excellent could have been played as a centre or lock equally.

His run to set up the first Skelton try was a lock's run. His scoot down the short side to set up Bula was literally from where a centre would receive the ball and his pounce on the loose ball for his own try was a great piece of desperation that could have been from any position.

Im not looking to criticise AD. He is genuinely playing fantastic and Im glad the club re-signed him. I happen to have a functioning memory and therefore I know he is not the halfback we need and Im very keen for Benji to keep all his halfback eggs in the Latu basket. Im very worried that all the excitement of AD's game whilst playing halfback will distract from the fact that he is NOT a halfback.

For me the most important person that needs to understand this is AD himself, followed by Benji.
