No Kezie this week which is such a shame given this is arguably our best chance of 2 pts this season although the Eels are surprising most good judges. Hopefully the girls can tough this one it as it looks like a game that might be a gritty affair. The Tigers middles again have to set the platform & go from there. Their strength is in the centres so give Leianne & Rik plenty of opportunities of good go forward & see what happens.
Not sure why the Flegg or Cup or Harvey Norman game aren’t a curtain raiser for this game. Feel a bit for the girls with no double headers and now a game at home that doesn’t have a curtain raiser. The club certainly has got a raw deal. If it’s a council issue with wear & tear on the ground then why not play the Cup or Flegg game at Lidcombe or Concord.
Well Parra are our bunnies… 😂😂0-3 after the game today against the Roosters but promising signs that a win isn’t too far away. It will depend upon injuries & the ability to improve on a few things and an 8 day turnaround will help a little. Big game against the Eels next Sunday at Campbelltown.
I don’t know I think it will be no 10 loss in a row. I can’t even jinx this team anymore
There’s some really good talent there but are probably lacking that speed Garry suggested in an earlier post. If one of the back 3 were very quick and/or very strong it’d help. But against teams we’re kind of level with talent wise just need to tough one out for 2 points.Well Parra are our bunnies… 😂😂0-3 after the game today against the Roosters but promising signs that a win isn’t too far away. Girls tried hard tonight but a lack execution & missing a but of class at vital moments hurt them. Brooke keeps impressing. She impressed late last season at half with her defence and now being moved to back row showed she’s a really strong defender. I posted last September on X how I thought Jakiya would make a great fullback, hoping that Noddy & the club would make a really tough decision regarding that position and as much as we all love Bo I think they’ve missed a great opportunity to strengthen the team.
The girls have played a total of 13 games now, 5 of their 11 losses have been by 6 pts or less. They’re yet to win a game by 6 pts or less.
They just looked to lack a real dominant half, we couldn't capitalize on field position... sound familiar? And Sophie Curtain was not the answer when she came on.
I prefer Losana at 6 and if Emily was fit from day 1 her at 7. But really they don’t have a lot of depth in the squad just yet. I think that’ll change the next couple of years because there are some good, young players coming through. A few who played in the Lisa Fiola GF this year are playing Harvey Norman now. They just looked to lack a real dominant half, we couldn't capitalize on field position... sound familiar? Big ask for the girls in Saturday. Warm conditions so controlling the ball will be even more important. Good to see Tiana Lee Thorne get a run, she played Tarsha Gale (Hall of Famer Tarsha) this year so still only 19 but has a bright future. If the girls can once again play tough in the middle & hopefully execute their chances better then it’ll be a good contest.
I don’t know the contract situation of Brooke Talataina but really hope the club can keep her around for some time because she’ll be one of the best back row forwards going around in a year or two. Still only 20 she is a great defender & has good ball skills having played in the halves prior to this year. She & young Lucyannah Luamanu-Leiataua who played back row in Lisa Fiola & now Harvey Norman are two terrific prospects the club needs to hold onto.
Broncos too good Sunday although the Tigers were quite good the first half. I think we’re definitely lacking some size & speed in comparison to most teams especially stacked teams like the Broncos. Really missed Kezie, our marquee player. I think with Kezie & Jakiya out there the team would’ve won some games this year but obviously not possible. Feel the club made a glaring error in letting Jakiya go, really needed to do what they could to keep her. We can still compete but just lacking that punch needed to really trouble teams. Anyway, a couple of good debuts in this one, Montana Clifford is a good pick up, worked hard & showed she is up to this level, and Tiana-Lee Thorne was very solid on the wing in her first game.
I also think we’re missing an out & out 7. If Emily Curtain is fit & has some footy under her belt I’d like to see her come back in and move Losana to 6. Pauline has done well but, to me, is more a 13 or until it’s off the bench than a half.
No Rik this week in the centres so Shaianne back in. No Emily Curtain again, looks like she’s still having injury issues unfortunately. Will be a tough one again this week away to the Knights but hopefully the girls will keep fighting hard for that elusive first win of the season. Just have to put it all together for the 70 minutes & see what happens. Sala was very good last week & hopefully she can have another big game.
Watching over the last couple of weeks the team is not coached well , the both halves need to be replaced and a couple of decent wingers also . The forwards have held their own every game there have been injuries but there performances have been poor.as with the rest of the clubs teams there fitness seems to be a problem , surely the coach will be replaced .
