Looking forward to seeing the NRLW Tigers again this season. Had about 4 or 5 close losses last year, missing a few key outs due to injury at various times didn’t help. Hopefully Losana “Baki” Lutu stays fit as she’ll make a difference but it’s the middle where they’ll really need to be good. Chris Pio looks keen for a big season @ Sara “Sala” Togatuki will always be strong as will Najvada George at lock. The addition of Natasha Penitani will hopefully help make for a better rotation & perhaps Tara Reinke can fill a role as well. A few selection headaches for Noddy around the halves, Emily Curtain & Brooke Talataina both had good moments last year at 7 & Losana Lutu will have competition from Pauline Piliae-Rasabale for the 6 jersey. Interesting addition to the squad is Harmony Chrichton, sister of Steven, first season NRLW but if the footy talent runs in the family she could be in for a big year. All the best ladies. Tigers!!!
Went to the season launch last night, was great a great night.

I’m glad it was a great night, pics on the site looked good. Seeing Benji & Api there too was terrific. I’ll be getting out to Concord to watch the Harvey Norman girls before heading to Leichhardt, might see you there eh?Went to the season launch last night, was great a great night.
A bit of a disappointing first game for the girls but there was enough in the 2nd half to suggest they can play a lot better. Thought Salma Nour, a very good young prospect, struggled a bit so wouldn’t shock to see Sophie Curtain maybe start next game, food for thought for Noddy. Think also they may have missed Emily Curtain who has a nice pass, defends well & had a good combo with Kezie last year on the left edge. I think she’s close to being right after a bit of a hammy issue. If she is will be interested to see what Noddy does with the halves. I like Losana Lutu at 6 but she did ok at 7. Hopefully the girls can really knuckle down this week & come out against a strong Titans team & play their best because if they do they’ll give themselves a chance of getting the 2 points.
0-3 after the game today against the Roosters but promising signs that a win isn’t too far away. It will depend upon injuries & the ability to improve on a few things and an 8 day turnaround will help a little. Big game against the Eels next Sunday at Campbelltown.
They look a level below most of the other teams. Much like the men.

Injuries and lack of speed cost them today.

They’ve played 2 of the 3 best teams first 3 rounds, the Roosters & Titans. The Tigers were poor against the Raiders first rd but not unusual for that to happen. Competed well against two of the heavyweights. If they have any desire to play finals must win against teams like Eels, Dragons, Cows etc. Win those games & confidence builds especially if have a good run with injuries as well. They look a level below most of the other teams. Big fan of Brooke, where do you think she fits in? At the moment I think playing that 14 role might be best as she can play halves & back row/lock & very solid in D. Maybe long term she could develop into an edge forward or 13. But don’t want to move Najvada from 13.They look a level below most of the other teams. Much like the men.

Will be interesting to see who Noddy goes with on the wing next week if Harmony is out. Probably between Bec Pollard, Tiana Lee Thorne & Claudia Nielsen. Claudia has now had 3 games of league at Harvey Norman level after the switch from rugby sevens so perhaps she is ready. I think she’s strong but just unsure how she’s coped with the switch in those 3 games. Maybe Tiana Lee Thorne could also be considered. Out of the three I think I’d go with Tiana.
Brooke is an out and out ball playing 13, I would consider playingf George in the prop rotation. I think that improves the overall quality of the team.Big fan of Brooke, where do you think she fits in? Need speed, we miss Whitfield so badly.

Was thinking about that as an option too. Just not sure about Najvada’s ability to dent the line but she’s pretty smart and does hit and spin well & always tries to get quick play the balls. I’d expect an opportunity to try what you’ve suggested will happen soon enough as one of the middles is likely to cop a knock of some sort.Brooke is an out and out ball playing 13, I would consider playingf George in the prop rotation. Yep, the Flyer was a big loss.
