So what is going on within the Tigers ..no more pussie footing around , from a supporters view point is there an agenda within the club to finally fold the club !Since Sheens has arrived its been down hill and now the wooden spoon I think many of the decisions Sheens has made have been  appalling … it’s time that all supporters start asking questions to actually where this club is headed.Forget having a new COE the club are just tenants it can be painted blue and white in 7 days …I have serious concerns about where the club is heading and with the people at all levels running it. Start waking up guys !

I blame Madge more than Sheens for this. He’s the one that put this roster together and couldn’t even get them fit.

in saying that, Sheens really needs to pull his finger out. After the worst season in the clubs history and with plenty of cap space, he’s signed no one for next year since taking over. He also seems to be all in on our current spine, which is a massive worry.

I’ve stopped caring as much as I used to. The club is so incompetent it’s easy to tune out. No one at the club seems to care so why would I ?

It’s all on Sheens now, the good grace has disappeared.

I also think more focus needs to be placed on the CEO. He’s been hiding in plain site while the place goes down the drain.

Couldn't agree more. As far as i'm concerned Sheens honeymoon period is over. And Pascoe should have gone years ago imo. Not the right man for the job.

My take:

1) club ownership is enjoying the NRL team not running at a loss. By many metrics (members, sponsorship etc) the KPIs they set for the club are being met and that has bought existing management (Pascoe) a fair degree of rope even though he has made some very bad decisions over this tenor.

2) Madge was done. Watching Tails from Tigertown (or even just watching him on Matty Johns last night) he didn’t look like a particularly knowledgeable coach. He seemed to rely on passion etc as that had worked for him with his teams in the past but he didn’t seem to have much tactical talent (still playing 2014 style, inability to respond to PVL rule changes) and also didn’t appear from outside to do much in terms of developing players (see Brooks under Cleary vs Brooks under Madge). Madge walked into a tough situation (cap was atrocious) and that was unlucky for him but I think even considering that he under performed.

3) the sacking of Madge mid season was dumb. The club tried to get ciraldo last year but there was little interest at that time therefore they persevered with Madge. Madge had a poor start to 2022 but I do believe ciraldo engaged the club (sheens) very closely and was serious about coming over if the role was available. Sheens thought ciraldo was in the bag and so he shot Madge. When Ciraldo had a closer look at the club and after seeing other offers (Gus) he eventually baulked. This was terrible at execution by Sheens and it blew up the season.

4) sheens puts kimmorley in rather than Gardiner. This is a really confusing decision given Gardiner had coached NSW quite well the year before and Noddy basically had no recent experience. No idea why he made that choice other than perhaps Gardiner said no in respect to his close friend Madge. Kimmorley was on a hiding to nothing and Sheens goes all in on the rebuild by physically distancing himself from the disaster and selling players out from under kimmorley. To be honest the club has treated noddy quite badly but I guess he knew the risks when he took over, hopefully he has learned something he can take back to the juniors or the NRLW.

5) sheens and Benji have been focused on 2023/24 and have a bunch of things lined up that will start to play out ver the next 2 months (player sways like peachey for staines etc) which attempt to improve the squad via the money ball approach. At the same time they have some monster plays lined up for marquee players In 2024. Landing a marquee or 2 for 2024 and then trying to bring them early or at least assist in recruitment of other quality first graders should see us start 2023 with a better top 30 than this year.

6) sheens and Benji will begin preseason with a radically new system/approach. They will not be bothered with the ego’s of the current “big fish in small ponds” (douhie etc) and will do what their vision is (ie their ego is bigger and they have the full control for the next 5 years). We start 2023 more competitive and get back towards the middle of the table. This gives the impression that sheens has got the team moving up the ladder and buys time for the 5 year plan (and Benji handover) happen.

7) more (moderate) success on the field buys Pascoe/Lee a stay of execution. The club goes for a 6/6 LO/CSS split in 2023 before moving to a 6/6 SFS/CSS in 2024 when LO missing out on funding again.

8) we finish 2023 in 9th place (everyone laughs at us again) before a top 4 finish in 2024, securing Sheeens’ legacy and the handover to Benji in 2025
