Here are some Id favour

Kelma back right edge

Garner left edge second row (impressed last week in an unfamiliar role)

Noffa to right centre (pretty ordinary positioning and hands on the wing this year. His defensive choices on the wing are historically poor as well. Still a very good ball carrier and can bust tackles)

To'a to right wing (very solid last week and deserves to stay in. Maybe he ends up right centre if Noffa is not a realistic option one spot in)

Luciano to lock ( has a passing game that is rarely utilised. Carries 3 players with him every hit up. Has an offload. Worth a try at 0-3)

Stefano out / Tuki in (I really like Tuki he has huge potential particularly with his offloads but I do accept it might be a bit early for him)

Out - Joffa, Seyfarth (forwards who cannot and wont ever make 10m per carry. We need forwards whose runs get people in the stands applauding, those ones which other teams forwards do all the time!)

These changes would leave us with

1. Laurie

2. Maumalo (assuming he is back)

3. Gildart

4. Nofoaluma

5. To'a

6. Madden

7. Brooks

8. Tamou

9. Liddle

10. Musgrove

11. Garner

12. Kelma

13. Leilua

14. Simpkin

15. Twal

16. Peachey

17. Simpkins

I really hope not, Nofa is not centre, Simpkins was really poor in the trials, Joffa has started the season well, I don't know that Lucy has the motor for 13.

I like that you’re trying to find solutions. I’d be picking To’a in the centres and pushing Roberts out to the wing (if Ken unfit). Backrow needs some more starch, I agree with Garry that Tuki has been disappointing this far this year.

I don’t really know on what grounds you drop Joffa or Seyfarth.Joffa was tough and courageous once again. Seyfarth was maintaining high energy levels. To me I don’t believe we’ve sorted our bench as we’ve yet to earmark the true entities with the 80 minute motors. That factor goes a long way to determining consistency and staying in the game to the death.Reduced interchange calls for highly judicious decision making.Have we got that right yet?Is the no.9 rotation upsetting the bench?I’m no professional, but keen for opinion here.

Garner really surprised me in the centres, he lacked a bit in attack but he certainly held up that edge in defence.

I really want us to try and match the Titans up the middle ...because Brimson and Co will roll off what their pack produces

I think Laurie gets a few weeks in KOE Cup, he’s just not playing well enough at the moment for first grade. Toa to Fullback and I think Tupou may get a call up to left wing based on last weekends sudden changes in the lower grades. Lucy to start at 13 and sub with the Peach. Garner and Tuilagi back row with Joffa to start. Not sure about Simpkin, he was poor last week and made some dumb runs near the end, would rather give Rua a go I think he ads a bit more attack wise.

The basis for my proposed changes is that we are 0-3. If we continue with the same side we can expect the same outcomes. Its just me but right now I feel I would be more hopeful of different results if there are changes. This also influenced my suggestions.

I personally think our fans come to respect and accept the contribution of players who would not make other clubs starting 17. We do it often. When Joffa signed for WT he was asked in the media why he joined and he said 'I had no other options.' It really sucks to hear that as a fan. I can't fault Seyfarth effort. He is very involved. But if he left the club tomorrow how many other clubs would offer him a contract? Sam Mcintyre got plenty of wraps from our supporters and has played bugger all NRL since he left. He's a good comparison to Seyfarth IMO.

Agree totally with your comments re the bench. I think we were on the right track last week with 2 props, Simpkin and Peachey covering edge roles and lock.

I would bet my last dollar that Tuki trained all off season as a middle and then when Blore went down he was played as an edge in the Manly trial. He was poor in that role I agree but he is a middle forward plain and simple.

FWIW Tuki came to NQ from NZ with Griffin Neame who is tearing it up for the Cowboys this year. We're crying out for middles who can run 100m + each week and I feel Tuki gets over the ad line regularly and is not monstered in tackles like some others.

It's more desperate hope my suggestion and I accept that its more likely Tuki plays more reggies before getting a recall.

Only one change other than who comes back from injury.. Laurie’s performance last game was beyond terrible he has to be dropped there is no question.

The attitude he has at present will further fester through the playing ranks , if Maguire persists here hopefully he will be gone within weeks ! As no other NRL coach would tolerate that performance.
