It also asks the question: pascoe is doing a great job because we are always about break even.
This story makes you wonder if the reason is we cut costs. Is the pascoe financial turn around because we are trying to make financal savings.
We maybe cheap. Not a good look for top players.
@avocadoontoast To be fair to the Tigers, does every other club bring all 30 contracted players to Interstate away games? I would be surprised if they did. It just feels like the DT is trying to blow up something from nothing.
That’s not the point though. The coach asked for two players to sit in the box with him and the club said no, so one of the players has had to pay his own way.
can you think of another NRL team that would do that? Or even another professional sporting team?
If you have a closer look at the article, there are no direct quotations from anyone from the club.Just a raft of assumptions made, and pretty frivolous at that.
“It is understood Tigers management”.....What does that mean? For mine it means the journalists haven’t spoken directly to anyone but have projected a particular narrative presenting the club in a negative light.
Let’s have a wee bit of balance and two sides(direct quotations,he said, she said)before we go off half cocked and start denigrating the club in this instance.

Carayannis and Read talk about it extensively on the DT NRL Podcast if you take a listen. They generally get good information from the club.

It means Tim Sheens makes football related decisions...
Tim doesn't like playing favourites since Fitzy retired..

All well and good, but not good journalism Avo.It’s conjuring up a story and presenting a narrative without solid foundation.
I get pretty passionate about this as we’ve been on the receiving end for too long and have, and continue to be flogged by the kick em while they’re down Murdochracy.Of course players don’t come here because it becomes a vicious circle and they believe what they read and see.
Winning is the antidote. But,we need to be better in the media battles.
So my understanding is the decision not to allow a couple of players is somewhat inaccurate but not totally.
Management did not want some selected to go over others for harmony and culture reasons. Definitely not a financial consideration. I was told footy department were offered the option of flying all players up but this was not possible due to rehab schedule.
Just passing on what I found out.

1st part sounds plausible ...2nd part not so much ......flying and soft tissue injuries can cause issues (DVT etc ) and taking extra risks with players getting Covid .....
