The whole RCG thing is very interesting, talk is Dogs are in the box seat however they are apparently doing medical checks on Taukeiaho who is looking for an NRL club....surely they don't have the cap space to pick up both. They have Amone and Tupouniua already signed and Taukeiaho all but signed with RCG apparently on the way. Surely we are in the mix for him.

Perhaps they are waiting to see if they have $600,000 and a roster spot free after parting ways with a winger?

renewing for season 2025, Gold member reserved seating Latchem stand, campbletown stand and parramatta.

Interestingly you get the silver ticket pricing as a renewing gold member which is pretty reasonable at $590 for all home games vs $725

good initiative by the club well done

FACE THE CONSEQUENCES’: BENJI’S HIGH EXPECTATIONS

Wests Tigers players have been left in no doubt about what is expected from them when they return to pre-season training in November after the club delivered some home truths in their exit interviews.

It is understood the players were told that they needed to return to pre-season in tip-top shape or face the consequences.

The Tigers have won three straight wooden spoons and a fourth will be unacceptable given the club has secured some big signings for next year, chief among them Penrith superstar Jarome Luai, his premiership-wining teammate Sunia Turuva and Cronulla prop Royce Hunt.

The Tigers remain in the market and have been linked with a handful of players including Marcelo Montoya and Brisbane’s Kobe Hetherington – Hetherington is expected to visit the club’s headquarters next week.

However, they may choose to keep their powder dry and watch how the summer unfolds before making any further moves.

The club’s existing players have also been told to arrive back at training in good condition as the club looks to give coach Benji Marshall the best chance to lead a revival.

The message appears to have had the desired effect – a number of the club’s young stars were still working out in the facilities this week in a bid to ensure they hit the ground running next season.

Meanwhile, premiership-winning hero Brett Hodgson is among the coaches being considered as Marshall looks to strengthen the ranks of his assistants next season.

Hodgson, a teammate of Marshall in the 2005 grand final win and a life member of the Tigers, was most recently a member of Eddie Jones’ staff with the Wallabies, acting as their defensive coach.

He has previously been on the Tigers coaching staff as an assistant.

Would be perfect to coach Bula, I actually see a lot of similarities in their play.

I think Hodgson as assistant coach would be stupid. He’s never had success as a coach, and he’s another one of Benji’s mates. We need to stop this rubbish and Richo should be getting the best assistant coach possible. Imo Benji should have little to no say in who it is.

@avocadoontoast This is a joke surely.. Hodgo can not coach it’s been proven . If he is appointed Benji will be gone mid season or before ..Haven’t us supporters been put thorough enough of the 2005 boys club that have no idea how to coach  ,there would have to be questions about Richo’s mental state if this happens !

Hang on lets be real for a second.

We have a head coach, with exactly zero coaching experience at any level at all.

We are replacing an assistant coach (Farah) with exactly zero coaching experience at any level at all.

We have another assistant coach (Heighington) with exactly zero coaching experience at any level at all.

We are looking employing an assistant coach with the following resume:

Head coach - Widnes Vikings Academy 2013

Assistant Coach- Widnes Vikings

Assistant Coach Wests Tigers - 2018

Coach NSW Cup Wests Magpies - 2018

Head Coach Hull FC - 2020-2022 (finished 8th and 9th)

Assistant Coach England RU - 2022

Assistant Coach Wallabies - 2023

Hodgo is not Bellamy but he is close to the most experienced and qualified on the entire coaching staff.

His winning percentage is 39%, but the worst part is he’s a mate of Benji. Benji doesn’t need a yes man sitting there, he needs a coach that is of head coach calibre, because Benji isn’t. I think Hodgson will be a complete disaster. A terrible choice.

In addition, I would have gotten rid of Marshall ages ago. But if he has to stay, they should have someone who does all the actual coaching and Benji can just do man management. The less Benji has to do with day to day coaching the better

His winning percentage in Challenge Cup is 60%, Overall in England 42% and NSW Cup 50%. Would make him the most successful Tigers coach for a long time.

Regardless its semantics. If he was a great head coach, he would be a head coach, as would ANY assistant coach we sign up. He is being signed as an assistant coach, replacing a bloke with zero experience who "assisted" a 22% winning percentage and a wooden spoon. ITs a step up.

hodgo
