Cobbo is a safer option in someways than taylan May despite being in Sydney
Not sure if Sydney would suit him but there’s little doubt he’d very much respect GI. It’s all pie in the sky right now but if you have Cobbo at right centre you don’t need an elite edge backrower there as well, just a guy who can do a job. It’s likely a player of Cobbo’s ability would make Seyfarth or whoever a better player. It would be great to have players of great ability in each position but that’s not going to happen.Cobo may actually benefit from a move to Sydney and GI as his mentor. His ceiling is ridiculously high, just needs to focus on footy.
Cobbo will be in high demand but whoever gets him is going to get him at the right time, only played 68 games right now and just 23 this year. His best is in front of him as long as he’s happy.
Do you think the timing of a possible medical retirement of Olam & Klemmer probably going Dragons is Richo knowing there’s an opportunity to snag a player like Cobbo? I think we might still need a middle. We’ve lost Stef, Miller (who they were hoping was going to contribute) and now probably Klemmer. We’ve also moved Seyfarth to the edge. The middles will miss games as well so another middle or a Frizell if we’re very, very lucky would help.?
Signing a player like Cobbo would obviously strengthen a club like ours, that’s a no brainer. I can only imagine what it would look like to have Lachie combining in that right side with a player the calibre of Cobbo there.
