having looked deeper into the issue I can’t see how there can be any outside board changes under the current governance structure. Perhaps Wests Ashfield could gift a seat to the members but it would be completely at their discretion. The only way I see material change would be if Wests became financially under threat and they needed to sell the NRL club to raise cash

So long at the Wests Tigers keep getting the NRL grant and have strong sponsorship, and Wests Ashfield pokies are switched on, that won’t be an issue.

If the corporates decide they need a break from Wests Tigers then Wests Ashfield will take notice. Otherwise they really don’t care.

The main sponsor is the Chairman, so unlikely to happen.

When you put it that way it’s clear that the decision to put Lee into Chairman was another example of the club basically creating a fortification against  financial risks of running the club. Put it in the same category as playing at 7 home grounds, not spending the cap etc.

The Home ground situation will be sorted soon.

Accor??

Whatever decision is made, the media will make it their next topic to criticise the club. I can see the headlines already in my head.

Looks like they are consolidating all their venues under one name. This actually makes me think that the now Rozelle venue will be Wests Tigers branded.

I hope they do. A Wests Tigers branded venue is very much needed.

My reading of it was that the change is all about not being another “wests group” as Ashfield expands to Sydney Markets and Rozelle. I don’t think it’s “Wests Tigers” at all.

It's about grouping their independently branded clubs under one group, the Holman Barnes Group. This allows them to expand into other markets as the Panthers Group has done. The fact they are including Balmain history in including Keith Barnes into the name makes it seem to me they are striving to respect the history of Balmain evenly with the history of Wests.

The fact they are uniting the various brands under the Holman Barnes Group and not under the Wests or Magpies banner makes it appear to me that they would be at least open to the branding of the new club being Tigers related. This new club could potentially become the group's flagship venue. Hopefully a Wests Tigers branded club.
