It’s depressing.

@mike any idea if how many voting members?
Or how many voting members actually vote?
You'd think with a concerted campaign you could make an impact?
Top 8 2023
Also most votes are by proxy with the incumbents in the prime position holding most of the proxy votes from the local community.
having looked deeper into the issue I can’t see how there can be any outside board changes under the current governance structure. Perhaps Wests Ashfield could gift a seat to the members but it would be completely at their discretion. The only way I see material change would be if Wests became financially under threat and they needed to sell the NRL club to raise cash

So long at the Wests Tigers keep getting the NRL grant and have strong sponsorship, and Wests Ashfield pokies are switched on, that won’t be an issue.

You can nominate someone when a position comes up. Check the Wests Ashfield web site. They can then campaign I guess. Voting is the same as most clubs. You get notified. I did by post last time I think.

If the corporates decide they need a break from Wests Tigers then Wests Ashfield will take notice. Otherwise they really don’t care.

Spot on.
When we were in high school, a few of my mates (not me) used to leave school on a Friday lunch and go to the bowling club because they had $1 pots and didn't check ID.
Anyway they became such regulars, they ended up going to the AGM and one got voted onto the committee- they weren't even 18 yet!
Definitely, can swamp the voting at Wests Ashfield if we have the right galvanising candidate
Then that person gets to decide on the Renos to Wests Ashfield and what fancy new resturant to add.
Platform would be:reform to Wests Tigers NRL board membership to include 1 seat directly elected by board members. Threaten to keep voting in new wests Ashfield board members until they are to the Tigers board change. In all honesty a directly voted members seat is pretty much a no brainer. It guarantees they retain control of the board but gives the members a vote.
So who here has been a member of Wests Ashfield for 3 years?
That would be me
Hey @mike have you voted for the Board before?
You vote for the Ashfield board for positions that are up. Only a couple can be voted for, the rest are debenture and are basically there for life. Also Wests Tigers is not the main game, to vote someone in you would have to overcome the votes of the local community. Almost impossible todo, many have tried and so far all have failed.
There are 2 positions that can be voted for by the general membership, the other 5 come from the Debenture Holders. There are 20 Debenture Holders.

You can not make any impact on the Wests Tigers through voting for the directors of Wests Ashfield.

The main sponsor is the Chairman, so unlikely to happen.

When you put it that way it’s clear that the decision to put Lee into Chairman was another example of the club basically creating a fortification against financial risks of running the club. Put it in the same category as playing at 7 home grounds, not spending the cap etc.

The Home ground situation will be sorted soon.

Home Ground decision extremely important, if you alienate one area over the other and are not playing well your membership will have reason to bottom out.
If it is just LO or just CSS it will be a disaster
