It seems that the only way to get onto the Wests Tigers Board is to first become a Wests Ashfield Board member. If NRL club members organised as a block I assume we could pretty easily get a candidate elected to the Wests Board. Anyone have any ideas of someone who could galvanise the NRL club members to make a play for a Wests Tigers Members voice in the running of the club?

It won't really work, you have to first get on the Wests Ashfield Board then the Board has to vote you onto the Wests Tigers board when a position becomes available.

I doubt you could even get the numbers to get onto the WA board as the vast majority of members do not care about the Wests Tigers and I don't think you would get enough members to make a difference to the elections. You also have to be a member of Wests Ashfield for 3 years to even be allowed to vote.

Well the ambush/weststigerspod/etc are building a network. It’s not impossible (maybe will take some time) but I’m sure there are plenty of fans who are members who would respond to a message about “change on the Wests Tigers Board”. How many people would even vote for the wests Ashfield board? A few hundred? Looking at the board members it would seem hard to imagine they attracted enough interest to get a thousand people to vote for them

The board is extremely weak in the skillsets we need to lead a professional NRL club,  especially one in our position

The board is extremely weak

That it is, but its not even worth thinking about as it is just an unmovable obstacle.

The only way you could possible get any representation would be to build media pressure to have a Wests Tigers member voted position on the Wests Tigers board, but in all honesty I don't even see that succeeding as it would take the current board to change the structure of the club to allow it. Getting on the Wests Ashfield Board doesn't get you much closer to decision making for the Wests Tigers.

When we were in high school, a few of my mates (not me) used to leave school on a Friday lunch and go to the bowling club because they had $1 pots and didn't check ID.

Anyway they became such regulars, they ended up going to the AGM and one got voted onto the committee- they weren't even 18 yet!

Definitely, can swamp the voting at Wests Ashfield if we have the right galvanising candidate

Then that person gets to decide on the Renos to Wests Ashfield and what fancy new resturant to add.

Platform would be:reform to Wests Tigers NRL board membership to include 1 seat directly elected by board members. Threaten to keep voting in new wests Ashfield board members until they are to the Tigers board change. In all honesty a directly voted members seat is pretty much a no brainer. It guarantees they retain control of the board but gives the members a vote.

So who here has been a member of Wests Ashfield for 3 years?

I am willing to look into the process involved, but I don't think you should be getting your hopes up.

There are only 2 positions on the Wests Ashfield board that are available to the General Members.

My ideal board (I know will never happen)

- Robbie Farah (heart and soul of the club)

- Dene Halatau (Wests Tiger, 6 years working at NRL and ABC)

- Anthony Field (loves the club, businessman, huge connections)

- Steve Waugh (australia's greatest leader)

- Dominic Perrottet (need someone with political connections)

-  1 x member voted positions (the poor sucker)

- 1 X Wests Ashfield members (I know they are 100% owners and need majority share - but this is in ideal world)

- 1 X Wests Campbelltown (I know they don't get along, but need to get Campbelltown inside the tent)
