I would look at playing Bateman at 13

I wouldn't, I don't think it worked when we tried it last season.

if not Bateman then setfarth maybe to start at 13 and maybe matamua or kit off the bench

Wow, all those options are horrible.

think seyfarth will get a spot in the 17 for round 2 somewhere and probably better starting than from bench

Seyfarth should not be an option on the top 17.

Wow, all those options are horrible.

We don't have a nrl quality ball playing lock.

Benji had talked about having a focus on defence and 'laying a platform' by kicking to corners.

I can see merit in having a defensive prop playing at 13 for the first period of the half.

Then replacing with a more attacking and younger 13 at the back end of the half.

What's your plan for 13?

Top 8 2023

That's the issue, we don't have a decent option. Seyfarth, twal and Bateman are all not NRL quality options at 13.

I would be playing pole there but he isn't what we need in the role either.

How about Papalli? Then you pick Samuela Fainu in second row?

If Seyfarth makes our 17 we are in massive trouble.

1000% agree. Why did we resign him?

While the lightly framed Alex Seyfarth hasn’t been a great line-bender or metre-eater I’m still of the belief that there’s a lot of energy and upside to him with plenty of room for improvement. He’s a pretty willing defender and while he’s not going to be the starting 13,I wouldn’t be prematurely dismissing him. He’s a year older and stronger,a local junior who doesn’t break the bank and the coaching staff have always spoken highly of him. They must see something in him.Webster tried to prioritise him for the Warriors if I remember.I hope the Tigers’ persistence with him pays dividends, after all he’s still only 24,but with a bit more experience which is an absolute essential component for our squad depth and balance at the moment.

I have never been a fan of Seyfarth, however I can tell that he is passionate about the team and performing well, not a naturally gifted player but a toiler...needs to post big numbers in tackles when he is on and in attack just hit it up the guts quickly find your knees and make a quick play the ball, don't worry about meters lets just give our dummy half and halves some options as I can see Api and Sullivan wreaking havoc off a fast play the ball. If Seyfarth and Twal can do this when they come on with a tired defense than they should be lock ins for the bench.

@tiger-symmetry Seyfarth is a bit underrated IMO he definitely has not been used properly. Used the right way I think he will surprise has ability and a big motor …. a work in progress that could pay dividends.

Disagree he is lightly framed. IMO the problem is the opposite. He is a  big guy but plays like he isnt. Im not ecxited by him but have to say I did see significant improvement in him last year and if that improvement continues he could be a surprise positive in 24.

think he will be there at least to start the season, I have heard club is happy with his training, I guess the trials may give us a better idea. Would think as the season progresses Kit or someone would take his spot. If I was framing a market I reckon $1.50 he makes then17 for our Canberra game
