Given the reports we’ve let Madden look elsewhere, and moved Hastings to lock, it suggests Brooks stocks as our halfback might be rising. The choice around the halves is the second most important decision made by the club this year. I hope they have the guts to shake things up, I’m sick of rinse and repeat.

The question with Brooks is has 9 years of Coaches trying to turn him into Cooper Cronk ruined him forever or can we actually become a creative half? As an aside I always though let it was a shame Brooks was 7 and Moses was 6 at Tigers when it was clear their skills were better suited the other way around. Moses and Brooks (and Teddy) are still best mates, I wonder whether there is a world where Moses come back on a big payday as the creative 7 and Brooks plays his foil at 6.

@helmesy mot making excuses for brooks but he hasn't really had a proper coach

Potter

Taylor

cleary - was halfback of year 2018 in a side that didn't make the semis

Madge - not a bad coach but very structured

Sheens- good coach for a creative half

if anyone can get a combo of

13 Hastings

7 Brooks

6 douhie

Sheens can do this. I'm sure it will be first reliever Hastings and left and right of the ruck douhie and Brooks. I think it will work.

Goo luck to Madden but he is not first grade standard
