Yes…..but still our best today
I humbly disagree.
Left field suggestion, Hastings at halfback & Laurie five eighth.

I was thinking the same....
Laurie is not up to it as a fullback and he just hasn't got the size to bring the ball back. He rarely makes a break.
He always gets monstered and has no post contact metres.
Bellamy made the change with Hughes to half, but I don't know if Laurie could transition to the halves.
My view the club needs to sign a 6 & 7 .. unfortunately Sheens will just be flogging a dead horse next season , Brooks will be 7 all season we all know he will that’s Sheens.AD not a half and Hastings is just to slow , so there we have it nothing will happen until the club goes to market for a 6 &7.
AD is the only player we have that ever looks dangerous. I think we need to persist with him for the rest of the season but I know a lot of people disagree. I still think he could be a very good 6 but I could be wrong. Regardless I think he’s a great player that would should try to keep.
If you take away those two games earlier in the season Hastings hasn’t been good at all. He’s a really good competitor but he’s too slow at 7 and if we’re being honest probably doesn’t have enough talent either.
Brooks shouldn’t even be considered an option for first grade ever again unless it’s in the centres. he’s just not smart enough of a footballer to succeed in the halves. He doesn’t know when to pass or run, he doesn’t know when or how to kick. He’s terrible and he’s getting worse.
Apart from Api our spine is a real concern.
@liddy A No1 is a priority IMO Laurie is way way off the pace in all aspects .. maybe a look into the halves ?
I remember Phil Gould saying he thought Laurie was a 5/8
@liddy I think Gould said Laurie was more a 5/8 than a fullback, besides what have we got to loose in having it try.
Impossible to judge the halves with the current team. Our ruck speed is too slow in both defence and attack. We don’t get yardage from our own half. We are kicking from inside the 40 too much.
When we actually ping them on their line from a kick, we give away cheap penalties, or don’t have the defensive intensity to stop them from kicking inside their 40m.
Further, we lack strike power outwide. We don’t have a damaging second rower or centre who breaks the line and creates quick play the balls.
Fisher Harris, Moses Leota and Kikau were the difference today. The layed the platform and even reserve grade halves could capitalise on it.
Douehi was the best player on the park today from either side.
His kicking game was excellent and his powerful running got us on the front foot in the second half in particular.
He also scored a 100% effort try the likes of which we haven’t seen from any Tigers player all season.
Unfortunately he could turn in a 10/10 performance and there will be people picking faults in his performance.
Some Tigers fans seem to resent the fact that he’s better than Brooks, way better.

AD 100% plays his best football at 6, still needs to create more space for the players around him.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
@voice_of_reason at 13 douhie can run when he wants. Priblem is Douhies defence is an issue at 6 or 13. In attack he could play lock
Douehi was really good 1st game back at 5/8. Keep him their. Hastings was good at lpck. Find a different halfback
@jedi-tiger if he doesn’t like it, he can go to Redcliffe. Same with Brooks. I did read today that sheens wants douhie to be more like a jack wrighton from Canberra.
