@mike Just saw that Minichiello also won a GF with the Rorters at 33 years of age, the year before he told them to play RTS at fullback & he played on the wing. Playing good footy in their early 30s is not as rare as many of us might think.

Especially if you’re robust or just lucky with injuries.

@helmesy Again, hard to disagree but Minichiello did play with chronic back pain I think. And Slater had a few shoulder issues too but they both played good footy in their early 30s. In Slater’s case he was a champion player, Minichiello was very, very good at what he did. Maybe these type of players, outstanding professionals know how to manage their bodies better than most.
