he has an "injury" that the club says is severe enough to miss the game. I got told by a someone close to him the injury is not that bad he would have played with worse in the past...

As for choosing to leave if you employer said your salary was going to be x and then it was y would you choose to stay ? He is getting a 4 year deal so from that side I am sure he is happy about it but he does like the club and never wanted to leave.

That does not at all translate to the club are preventing him from playing because they are upset with what was said. I find it hard to believe tbh
